BMI Calculator™ - Body Mass Index Explained by JohnyMay: 8:25am On Aug 01, 2022
When assessing body mass, BMI is not suitable for the following groups of people:

For growing children
For elderly people who cannot accurately measure their height
For athletes and people with highly developed muscles
For pregnant women
You can check your BMI here: https://www.asliekna.lt/kmikunomasesindeksoskaicioukle/

Why is it important to know your BMI?
As we have already mentioned, the Body Mass Index is only an approximate number that allows you to get an initial assessment of your height and weight balance and find out which side of the spectrum you are on - i.e. whether you are overweight, obese, normal weight or underweight.

By knowing your BMI, you will be able to decide how you need to proceed in order to achieve your ideal weight. In no way is it recommended to take drastic steps to change your nutritional balance and diet just by knowing your index. The BMI calculator on our website can be used by both men and women - i.e. adults of any age who want to know their weight and height balance index.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), after knowing your BMI data, you should act accordingly:

If you are underweight (BMI<18.5) - contact nutritionists and find out how to gain muscle mass and weight safely and healthily.
At a normal weight (BMI from 18.5 to 24.9) - follow the principles of a healthy diet and be active in order to maintain the body weight in this balance.
If you are overweight (BMI from 25 to 29.9) - reduce the amount of calories you consume regularly and be more physically active in order to reduce your body mass index to the norm.
In case of obesity (BMI above 30) - also consult a nutritionist for a serious consultation, which will help you create a proper diet plan and take other effective methods to reduce unnecessary weight.
We will repeat again, BMI is only a primary indicator of your weight. In no case do not make radical changes in your diet on your own in order to lose or gain weight. Following a diet that is not adapted to your taste and eating habits, you will not achieve significant results, and in the worst case - you will simply harm your health.

Don't be shy and contact a nutritionist who will answer all your questions and help you prepare a plan that will be effective for YOU. In this way, you will reach your ideal weight.
