Partner Cross River in school feeding programme, Ayade tells FG

Cross River state Governor, Professor Ben Ayade has appealed to the federal government to factor in factories built by his administration in the school feeding programme by patronising its products.
The Governor spoke Thursday at the Executive Chamber of the Governor's Office Calabar while playing host to the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Social Welfare and Disaster Management, Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouk who was in the state to flag off the conditinal cash transfer programme.
The cash transfer programme is under the National Social Safety Nets Project of the Buhari administration.
While commending the Minister for coming to Cross River to flag off the programme, Ayade stated that the Calachika chicken processing plant, the noodles factory and the vitaminised rice mill established by his administration were geared towards complementing the National Social Safety Nets Project under which the school feeding programme runs.
The Governor extolled Hajia Farouk's zeal in putting smiles on the faces of the poor, saying Cross River has benefited immensely from her Ministry.
"God has ordained you to fulfil a very critical purpose in the lives of downtrodden Nigerians.
"Through you, over 3000 Cross Riverians have benefited from the scheme. Even the school feeding programme in Cross River is very robust" Ayade said.
Earlier, Hajia Farouk described Cross River as home and thanked the governor for the warm reception accorded her and her entourage.
The Minister revealed that about 20,000 Cross Riverians would benefit from the #20, 000 conditional cash transfer.
