A man name Joseph Adeniyi in Suleja, in a suburb near Abuja, the Nigerian capital, on Tuesday strangled his wife Mrs. Gloria Chidinma Joseph to death with a rope.

According to eyewitness, Mr. Joseph who was out of job for a while started suspecting his wife, Gloria Chidinma Joseph a staff of General Hospital, Suleja of infidelity.



A neighbour who does not want his name in prints confirmed that the man had in the past continually abused and assaulted the lady both verbally and physically.

"The lady could not survive this morning's attack" he said.



According to reports, the man used very strong rope to strangle the late wife to death and when he discovered he had killed her, he took popular insecticide called sniper in the bid to take his own life too, but for the timely arrival of his neighbours meant that he won't die that very moment.




Mob arrived as the news spread. They tried to lynch the killer man to death, but the police were swift enough in time to avert jungle justice.

The police then rushed the man to a nearby hospital where he is currently receiving treatment pending when he will be charged to court.

The couple was survived by one son.

In Suleja hospital, a husband who strangled his wife to death and consumed toxic stuff passed away.

On Monday, August 8, in Suleja, Niger state, Mr. Adeniyi Jose strangled his wife of eight years, Chidinma Gloria Ibeh, before attempting to commit suicide.

He was taken by ambulance to Suleja General Hospital.

He has since passed away, an informant informed The Bureau.

The insider added that there was no basis for Mr. Adeniyi Jose's suspicion that his wife was unfaithful.

"Gloria never had an affair with her husband. Stop assuming anything that you don't know, "a source informed LIB.

They continued by saying that Mr. Adeniyi has a history of being an envious spouse who would cause conflicts with his wife if he caught her speaking to a male.

According to reports, the wife supported the family because Adeniyi was unemployed.

A son was left behind by the couple.
