Many Southerners has held the erroneous belief that the North is one but on the contrary,the North is a region of many nations such as Kanuris,Tivs,Nupe,Hausa/Fulanis,Yorubas,Berom,Igalas,Tangale,Mumuye etc.

Kassim Shettima is from the Kanuri ethnic tribe from a minority tribe of the North.Shettima by tribe is a minority and by religion a majority in North.
The Hausa/Fulani have always held power on behalf of the North which overshadows the Northern ethnic minorities.

Tinubu on the other hand comes from largest tribe in the South,The Yorubas.Tinubu by tribe is a majority and by religion is a minority in the South.

Tinubu/Shettima’s APC Presidential and Vice ticket is the 2nd time Fulani are neither the Vice nor The Presidential candidate.The first time was Abiola/Kingibe’s ticket in the 90’s.
On some Hausa blogs some are angry Tinubu did not choose any Fulani/Hausa as a running mate.
