The Lagos State Government has tackled the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for making a false claim on the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

How it started: A tweep with the username, Tony Montana, had shared a video clip of Obi from a studio conversation in which the former Anambra State Governor was commenting on the state of the nation.

Commenting on the ongoing ASUU strike, Obi claimed that the only university that's not on strike today is the Anambra State University and that was all down to what he did during his time as the governor of the state.
The presidential candidate said, "And they are coming every four years to give you 5,000, 10,00, do you want to continue like that or do you want your gratuities and pension paid as and when due.

"The lecturers who are not paid, the students who are not in school, it's for them to decide.
"You are talking about what I did... the only university that's not shut down today is the Anambra State University because of what Peter Obi did," said Obi.

Lagos govt reacts: Reacting to the video, Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, quoted the original tweet with a comment to counter Obi's claim.

He said, contrary to the former governor's claim, there are other universities who are still in session despite the ASUU strike.

Akosile said, "Dear Mr. @PeterObi, why do you lie with ease? there are several Universities that aren’t on strike- Lagos State University @LASUOfficial, Kaduna State University, Kwara State University,
Rivers State University, Osun State University, Kogi State University etc are in session."
The frontline presidential candidate has severally been accused of making incorrect claims especially when quoting figures.

Pitobi should know that we all are not his Zombidients as we know rightly that he's a Pretender who is part of the failure.
Obi is trying desperately to cash on the myopia of undiscerning minds to get power.

Mere change of a cloak doesn't change the personality of someone, so changing or switching to labour party does not exempt him from the pass failure of PDP.

it not about the fact that they couldnt...it about weather you will do it and how?...all you have been blabbing about is about how Eygpt increased their power supply, How south africa electricity is, how vietnam etc..how APC and PDP couldnt do anything.no body gives a damn about that now...

what you should tell Nigerians is the problem facing the power sector..break every issue down and how you as president intend to fix it...stop giving us history lessons that cannot hold water

Buhari might have failed to increase power genereation..but that is because power generation is not our major problem...the major problem is the transmission system, distribution and metering..this government has gone 10x ahead of any government in metering..this has addressed revenue issues to many extents for DisCos..this is the reason why many communities that are metered have better power than those on estimated billing..the next step is to address transmission..this is why Buhari signed the Siemen contract that killed Abba Kyari..unfortunately it failed..Obi should tell us how he intends to fix this part of the problem..

only ignorant folks believe that they will get better power if generation is increased..lol...why do you think our installed capacity is 12,000MW but we can only produce 3,000MW to 4,000MW..it is because that is what the transmission and distribution system can handle..this two systems needs to be worked on..the transmission system needs total overhaul and upgrades...it is only when you have done this can you talk about increasing generation.

so far...only Sowore and Atiku have been able to technically admit this issue and propose their solutions
Obi is only whinning himself

I wonder why a NIGERIAN will still vote APC and PDP

IS IT THAT NIGERIANS DONT HAVE BRAIN OR CAN'T THEY MAKE DECISIONS ON THEIR OWN

A COUNTRY OF 200M PEOPLE AND ELECTRICITY GENERATION OF 4000MW,GOD FORBID

FOR HOW LONG WILL NIGERIANS CHAIR HER OPPRESSORS

WE ALL KNOW THAT PDP HAS FAILED APC IS NOW WORST CAN'T THIS TWO PARTIES BE RELEGATED?

NO PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE IS TALKING ABOUT WHAT WILL BENEFIT THE COMMON NIGERIANS EXCEPT L.P candidate MR.PETER OBI WHY CAN'T HE BE GIVING A CHANCE

MAKE WE THINK WELL, PEOPLE ARE PRACTICALLY MALNOURISHED THIS PERIOD EXCEPT THE RICH,FOOD STUFFS HAVE SKY ROCKETED TO THE MOON

NO EMPLOYMENT,NO BASIC AMENITIES ANYWHERE

INSECURITY EVERYWHERE

IF WE KEEP PLAYING TRIBALISM CARD, THINGS WILL CONTINUE TO GET WORSE

I see L.P as a worthy try without sentiment

He left PDP because he cannot compete with atiku who has stolen 16 bn dollars meant for improving electricity supply for a miserable bastard like you.

He left pdp because he cannot compete with the people who has looted the treasury from.the beginning of this country.

The amount of money stolen from Nigeria since 1960 is over 600 bn$. If you take such money away from U.K treasury today, there will be no U.K tomorrow.

Peter Obi is an astute business man that has stolen zero from public funds and cannot compete with people that have packed all the money that should be given you an idiot a better life.

The funds from lekki toll is public funds and should be used for infrastructural development and capacity building but one man decides he wants them all.

I am a doctor and I go to club once once where yahoo boys buy drinks 1.8m a night and throw money in the air. Even though I drive a fine ride, I cannot use my salary to compete with boys like this because it is my sweat.

You are a poor miserable idiot.

That's not even my problem. The truth is, once you go back to check what he has said, you'd find it's a lie.

He feels too damn comfortable lying, and that's a red flag for me.

Edit:

I knew it would be a lie. Peter Obi is a Compulsive Liar.
