I agree it will be misappropriated...but that's if the money is free in the first instance...

We have huge debt to pay.... inflation skyrocketing, external reserves empty....and very soon, no state will be able to pay salary as no tangible income...

So, of subsidy is removed...they will have some money to attend to some of these needs
if debt won't stop looting, repayment can't.

So our subsidy payment daily is based on an average projected daily usage of petrol. So we pay out actual money daily based on ghost figures? At what point do we balance the books with the actual daily usage?

Same minister who defended the payment of over 1 billion for “security vehicles” for our daily neighbours only for them to deny receiving any.

This woman isn’t fit to be the cashier in a Garri processing plant yet here she is today, minister of finance.

If we really need to have a Nigeria by 2025, the government needs to totally remove this PMS subsidy. It's gradually killing the country.

BTW, no APC minion should tell me that it is only rich Nigerians who benefit from it; we all do. If the subsidy is removed, PMS can go as high as 400 per litre. However, Nigerians are more interested in what the government does with such savings.
Where is the socalled subsidy or you just want to follow the government narrative?
They keep increasing the pump price of petroleum products, while the quantity of cash budgeted for subsidy keeps increasing! Explain that..

There's something the finance minister isn't telling you

The ₦448/litre subsidy is calculated at the official rate of ₦420/$1. That will give us about $1 per litre subsidy.

Lets multiply that by daily consumption and we get $65m daily. Multiply that by 365 days and you get $23.725bn a year!

You can see why the government is broke? You can see why there's biting fx scarcity despite very high crude oil prices?

Won't it be better to end the subsidy and give out ₦8,000 monthly to 10m Nigerian mothers monthly?

Going forward is just to have local refinaries working . Government should do everything humanly possible to have refinaries working so that issue of subsidy will not even come at all

Actually he didnt say he would remove subsidy, he said he wouldnt because that is the only thing the people enjoy. i beleive he only agreed to remove it about a year ago and then backed out. The problem is if you are not removing subsidy then considering the huge pressure on our forex, he should have in 8 years gotten the refineries working especially as a past and present minster of petroleum.
