The ASUU man made points I cannot fault. If comatose refinery staff get paid, why not lecturers who still work on research during strike. 3 Likes |

empty promises as usual, FG won't pay anything or capture anything in any 2023 budget. The upward review of the 5k health worker hazard approved since Dec last year never got implemented, who are they deceiving? 2 Likes |

I kindly suggest ASUU should go and build their own university and have all they want there. It's obvious the government can't meet their 1001 demand demands, they want everything perfect in a country where nothing is working. |

The issues: Salary increment Payment of "earned" allowances Payment of salary arrears Adopting UTAS for payment. ......and university revitalisation funds. 4 out of 5 issues revolve around their salaries. And yet they keep saying they're fighting for the general education system. If true there should be 4 items about fixing the infrastructural rot, and 1 item about their pay. Like we always say, ASUU is greedily fighting with an Oliver Twist-like mindset for only their selfish needs, and damn the consequences on the students. Their pecuniary actions for self-gratification is doing more harm to the higher educational system than government's neglect. To hell with ASUU....and if you're down with ASUU, then f**k you too. 1 Like 1 Share |

9jii:If you are unproductive as a graduate, you are lazy and don't ve to generalize ur laziness by saying are grraduates are unproductive. Yes, many may be looking for salary jobs, but it doesn't mean they are not doing something decent already. Many of our graduates got scholarships overseas, many got jobs overseas even from Nigeria. A friend just won MBA scholarship to Netherland, becos products from her spices farm came first in a business competition here in Nigeria. The list is endless. Do u know how many graduates earn in USD from 9ja with the education they got here? O boi go and improve urself and figure out what to do with ur life instead of coming here to insult the exhalted office of a professor. 1 Like 1 Share |

alsudan:Let's check I think those profs are also greedy too If you are really correct with the amount politicians earn on monthly basis 4 4yrs. I think it worths it compare to the responsibilities they carry during the period. Prof will retire at the age of 70 probably work for 40+yrs...So politicians salaries are obsolete just for 8yrs highest with lots of people on his neck if he wants to do the right thing. Councilors don't earn up to that to say the truth The country is still not good but those unproductive lecturers are just fighting for their pocket using students to catch cruise Government give them accomodations, Government give them research bonuses and the likes still yet they are still wasting our time with their useless strikes |

Toneypen247: They should also justify why unproductive politicians that are responsible for the current comatose state of Nigeria are receiving humongous salaries and allowances. Since it corresponds with your question, I'll treat the both at once. If anyone is sensible enough should not even dare to compare a politician salary with a with a civil servant. First, the risk of being a politician alone you know is not an easy task in Nigeria. Coupled with the ridks/money he/she might have spent before emerging the winner of such position. Secondly, the responsibilities and task a politician has to settle each day can never be compared to a mere professor who is only enjoying the advantage of lecturing and extorting from students. How many people does a professor see to their needs in his constituency? Thirdly, the media aide also has responsibilities to take care of in so far as his determined to work for the success of his principal to win an election. This includes campaigning. Lastly, no pain no gain. You don't expect someone to be sitting at home for six months and be paid, that's ridiculous. The earlier the students realizes the so called ASUU are keenly interested in their interest, the better for them. A word is enough for the Wise. |
