The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, has said the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), should not be blamed for the securityAccording to the statement, the Kano State Citizens’ Forum, a non-partisan organisation, also honoured Ado-Doguwa with the award of Best Federal Legislator in the area of security support to the state’s security agencies.

Other personalities that were honoured, according to the statement, include the immediate Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Mamman; and the immediate past Commander 3 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Kano, Brigadier General Sinyinah Nicodemus.

At the event were the new Minster of State for Works, Hon Umar El-Yakub; and Hon. Nasiru Baballe Illa as new Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Reps), the statement said.

crisis in Nigeria, stating that security is the responsibility of the government and the people.

Ado-Doguwa, in a statement issued on Sunday, was quoted to have said this when the Kano State Government honoured some persons from the state who have been appointed to various positions in the Federal Government.

In the statement titled ‘Kano State Government Honours Ado-Doguwa, ministers, others,’ the lawmaker, who is representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency in Kano at the House, pointed out that it is the responsibility of all Nigerians to join the government in the effort to address the security issues in the country.

The Majority Leader said, “The security situation that we face in our country today should be a collective responsibility. There is no issue of blames trading – trading of blames. It is not Buhari. It is our own country.

We have every entitlement to claim the indigeneship of this country and we are proud Nigerians. Only if everyone can bring their hands on deck; and until everyone will be on the same page with the security apparatus and architecture of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, then we will continue to have problems.

“It is on this note that I want to say that the Federal Government under Muhammadu Buhari has, of course, been doing the best it could in terms of security the lives and property of the people. The budgets we attend to at every point in time, nobody there gets close to the appropriation of our security institutions.

We call those areas no-go areas – don’t touch them. We have given sufficient funding to all security agencies. Mr President is always concerned, holding meetings, giving directives, giving instructions left right and centre, all in the effort and commitment to keeping our homes safe to sleep in.

“So, we can only get it right if our governors will continue the kind of good things and unprecedented security initiatives like that of Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, the Governor of Kano State. The Ulamas are doing their best. The traditional institutions, I agree with you; you are also doing your best in your own direction.

But I want to say that the business of security is everybody’s business. If the security of this country fails as a state, it is the collective failure of every one of us, including the citizenry. They have a role to play. I do not mean that the citizenry will just go out, pick guns and fight the bandits in the forests. You have something to offer – praying for the country, praying for the leaders, praying for Mr President.”

As part of his constituency projects, Ado-Doguwa had distributed about 12 Toyota Hilux to Doguwa and Tudun Wada Police Divisions as well as the military base at Falgore Game Reserve, Kano Police Command, 3 Brigade Kano and Karota, among others.

According to the statement, the Kano State Citizens’ Forum, a non-partisan organisation, also honoured Ado-Doguwa with the award of Best Federal Legislator in the area of security support to the state’s security agencies.

Chai! Meanwhile here are the same hypocrites today:
“Clearly, we as [the] APC government, at all levels, have failed Nigerians in the number 1 duty we were elected to do which is to secure lives & properties. Not a single day goes by without some sort of insecurity in this land. This is a shame! Deal with terrorists decisively or resign,” he said in a Twitter post on Friday

While Tanko Yakasai was sacked after asking Buhari to resign over the rising insecurity and abductions in the country, checks by TheCable revealed that top APC chieftains, at different times, had asked former President Goodluck Jonathan to give up his office over failure to address security issues.

Aside from Yakasai’s post, there have been various calls for President Muhammadu Buhari to resign, but the presidency has described such comments as foolish.

IN 2015, APC WANTED JONATHAN TO RESIGN OVER ‘INCOMPETENCE’ “President Jonathan, who is also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, must take responsibility for the monumental cost, whether of his incompetence or his political strategy-gone-awry or both, apologise to the nation and immediately back down from seeking re-election,” Lai Mohammed had said, in a statement he issued as spokesman of the APC at the time.

IN 2014, TINUBU DEMANDED JONATHAN’S RESIGNATION OVER ‘LACK OF CAPACITY’
Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Lagos state, had asked Jonathan to resign over “lack of capacity” to tackle the country’s security challenges.
They have exhibited failure, lack of capacity, vision and creativity. The lies of yesterday are what they repeat today and are what they will repeat tomorrow. They are lying to you. They are lying about the security, toying about the security of this country. I don’t have time to explain the logic of their lies.

“But if you control the armed forces and you are the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the federal republic, why should any part of this country be under occupation? And you give us excuses every day. In any civilised country, Jonathan should have resigned. But if he will not resign, he should wait for our broom. We will sweep him away.”

BUHARI ASKED JONATHAN TO PAVE WAY FOR ‘COMPETENT HANDS’ IN 2013
“Jonathan should vacate and give way to competent hands to govern the country.” According to him, the then-president failed to perform his primary function of securing Nigerians.

IN 2012, EL-RUFAI ASKED JONATHAN TO ‘GO HOME’
“Why is it that only President Jonathan cannot solve Nigeria’s security problem? If he cannot do the job for which he was elected to do, he should consider going home. No president has ever sought the help of ordinary people in tackling security problems in this country,” el-Rufai was quoted to have said.

“The protection of lives and property of the citizens is the basis of any government in power and if the leadership has failed woefully to deploy the resources and information at its disposal to enforce coercive power for the benefit of the society, then it had no reason to stay on.”

You can imagine the kind of hypocritical idiots one share a nation with. These are the same people who endlessly accused the former government of the same self-inflicted insecurity by fueling the bandits cum BH menace while blaming same.

Mr President issuing orders? To what effects when bandits are his foot soldiers? Today, the chicken has come home to roost, but the situation have escalated some more. Yet they are frantically trying to exonerate the catastrophe they foist from blames.

Any wonder the same NASS that have shielded president from performing his constitutional responsibilities is the same rubberstamp stooges trying with futility to impeach the duncehead?

After the election, the Fulani have refused to leave. I and other like minds wrote and warned those we started APC with that this was going to happen but nobody listened,”

"...The reason Buhari won’t do anything about the growing insecurity is that the perpetrators of the crimes that have held the region hostage have been identified as Fulani.Buhari is a knee-jerk ethnic jingoist. He has a twisted idea of ethnic solidarity....

The truth is that he doesn’t care. The government Buhari leads can’t and doesn’t want to stem the rising tide of insecurity in the northwest or anywhere else in Nigeria...."

I picked up something from what Peter Obi said last week.

If economy is bad and there's unemployment, there'll be insecurity. People will devise new means to harm others.
Create jobs and you've solved the issue of insecurity a bit.
Create a favourable business atmosphere that encourages entrepreneurship and insecurity is gone for good.
Look at countries with the least percentage of insecurity, they all have one thing in common, more jobs and improved standard of living.

SO BLAME BUHARI FOR INSECURITY!
