Funny thing about love: who your heart yearns for, might not want you, and who want you, their heart might not want you. Love doesn't ask who to love, it just speaks from the heart, and the heart responses, so, whosoever the heart chooses, that's who it wants.
When he opened the door, he was shocked at what he saw, Lo, and behold, he saw Thelma, and Pedro on the bed having sex. Pedro was surprised to see him, "Hey man", Pedro said, "Royce!", Thelma called out in surprise. Royce was so shocked, "I thought...", he didn't know the exact words to say so he just walked away.

Royce's dreams of having a lasting romantic relationship with Thelma was shattered, it was crushed away all in one night, when he caught Thelma making out with Pedro. Despite all what Pedro had put Thelma through, she apparently decided to take him back.
