As soon as Buhari won the Presidential election in February of 2015, most Northern states automatically got Buharized during the Governorship election one week later.

Since then Jigawa has become an APC stronghold.

The only political value Wike has is Rivers State oil money.

Take that out, and he's nothing.

PDP needs that oyel money (at least before they get back into power), that's why every member is trying so hard to pacify him to stay and support the party.

Also, Wike should also remember the fact that the likes of former governors Peter Odili and Rotimi Ameachi are still there with their own influence and structures. He's not the only one with large following in Rivers.

After Buhari won the Presidential election is 2015, there was a tsunami.
And when the governorship elections came just one week later, All core Northern states aligned with APC..

Even if Lamido was a god, he couldn't have stopped the Buharization wave from hitting Jigawa state.

And since then Jigawa has been an APC state to the core.

So telling him he had no political value because he didnt deliver Jigawa in 2019 is a very cheap shot.

Let Wike go to APC and let us see his political weight in Rivers or SS na.


Buhari swept the whole North including Jigawa in 2015 but lost woefully in Rivers in 2015.

Why did he work against Jonathan in 2015 general election? Because he wants a northerner to be in ASO rock. Now, a northener is a PDP flag beater he is working for him and not APC who has a southern flagbearer. The problem we have on this country is because of northerner quest for power they don't know how to use. Many northern politicians are ethnic bigots, and religious tribalist. If northerners stop presiding over the affairs of this country, Nigeria will be great. Otherwise, they will keep dragging us back.

You can't compare voting in the north with rivers in particular where its all about who can field the highest number of gun carrying thugs, who can mobilize policemen and soldiers to protect a mandate brazenly stolen in daylight.

It may interest you to know that the current governors of jigawa, kebbi, Niger, were very much unknown prior to 2015, people voted them in even when the governors of their states back then were of the PDP, I don't think such can happen in rivers.
