Drug dealers have been operating even before Nigerian independence.
I don't think it has to do with the economic situation of the country, some humans are just naturally selfish.

Kidnappers continue to kidnap even with all the ransoms they have collected, armed robbers continue to rob even after all they have stolen. They are simply insatiable people that only feel sorry after they get caught and blame everything on the devil.

Even billionaires indulge in it to make more billions. Should we say the economy is affecting them too?

Some humans just can never be satisfied, hand some of them all the money here on Earth, they will still look for ways to go to Pluto to look for more money.

Nigeria is never anybody's problem when it comes to crime. There are men on highways selling shaving stick so they can put food on their table hoping for God's mercy to rain upon them one day, na this shameless ones just wan make quick money forgetting that there are no short-cut to success.

After small time now, you will see him opening 4 gigantic shops for Alaba, 5 for Ladipo, 2 for Idumota while oppressing legitimate hustlers with lavish lifestyle.
