To the ladies: Between living with the baby father till when he has the money/decides to pay the bride price and staying in your parents'/your own house till when he has the money/decides to pay ur things. Which one is preferable or honourable?? |

PROBLEMSOLVER27: You've answered the question.. staying with the baby father is preferable but staying by yourself till God answers your prayers is honorable 1 Like |

PROBLEMSOLVER27: It is women who have nothing much doing with their lives that go co-habit with the father of their child/children hoping he will "decide" to marry them someday.....such low self-esteem. Families who are comfortable with their daughters/siblings living with a man she is not married to, just because she got impregnated by him get liver. 2 Likes |

PROBLEMSOLVER27:Traditionally, would it it preferable and honorable for a woman to remain single until after she is married? If he is strapped for money to pay brideprice, ok but surely he should be able to afford enough money to at least register the marriage with the lady in the courts if indeed his desire is to do the right needful? Using brideprice cost as reason to cohabitation before marriage is unacceptable under any circumstances. 1 Like |

It depends… if you are both in love with each other you can decide to co- habitate but if it just happened that you impregnated someone you wanted to have a fling with well, there’s no point staying together, just perform your responsibilities…. |

If both parties had abstained from premarital sex in the first place, questions like this wouldn't even pop up ... 1 Like 1 Share |

Remove honorable from this equation. Honorable thing to do in our culture is not having children without marriage On preferable, it depends on individual situation. No one answer fits all in this case. |

It is not advisable to cohabit with him under that circumstance because most times the men become so relaxed and keep birthing more children until he can no longer afford to perform the marriage rites or lose interest altogether. I know of someone who tried it and ended up not doing anything and now they are 18 years into it. 1 Like |
