The Federal Government, has advised Nigerians intending to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to be guided by the new visa regime in the country.

The government, in a statement issued Thursday night by the Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Francisca Omayuli, said: “The attention of the Federal Government of Nigeria has been drawn to a video on the social media, showing purportedly stranded Nigerians, who arrived the Airport in Dubai, UAE on 29th August, 2022, but were denied entry into the country, despite having valid visas.

“The Nigerian Mission in Dubai has clarified that most of the supposedly stranded Nigerians were issued with family visas, only to arrive Dubai alone without any family member. Consequently, they were denied entry and advised to return to their country and apply for the appropriate visas. However, those persons allowed entry into the country have their family members in the UAE. While those who claimed their family members were on another flight, were told to wait at the airport, pending their arrival.

“The general public is invited to note and be guided that the Government of the UAE has introduced a new visa regime and has stopped issuing tourist visas to persons under the age of 40 years, except for those applying for family visas.”

The government further said it was instructive for prospective visa applicants to indicate clearly, their visa preferences without any ambiguity.

The government also called on Nigerians to respect the immigration laws of other countries so as to avoid unwarranted treatments.

Smh. Nigerians are the only people I know of that would break the laws of the country they're visiting, and when challenged by that country's authorities they'll still be using ogboju. I recall one of those that tried to circumvent the new UAE law was threatening to report the Dubai official to the United Nations. Why are we like this?? Is it by force to go to Dubai?

You are here on this thread condemning Nigerians outside that destroy the image of the country by involving themselves in drugs and 419....

Same you are on another thread promoting a presidential candidate that lost everything to the USA government due to his involvement in drug...

Say NO to drug abuse and a bigger NO to a presidential candidate that deals on drug

Since Atiku lives in Dubai, one will expect Dubai to respect us.

By the way why will Atiku who lives in Dubai want to rule Nigeria, especially since he is really from Camreoon?

I thought as much. They took family visas only to arrive alone. The next thing is to start shouting on social media without giving full details of what went wrong.

Even at that, they should conduct their investigation very well before issuing a Visa. They will collected visa fee and fraudulently issue visa without investigation, knowing too well that they will be turned back.

All ye bastard untrained youths going out there to disgrace us, thereby killing future opportunities of hardworking Nigerians, may Death locate you soon..

You go out there to work or study, but instead of focussing on work and studies, you trade cocaine, fight cult wars, human trafficking, dupe people, and other unimaginable crimes..and you turn around to blame the government for not coming to your rescue when caught..May death locate you soon

May your repentance not be accepted. May you all rot in hell

I keep saying this, Nigerians are full of propaganda, evenwhen I saw that video, I knew something isn't right from the Nigerians end you can’t be using illegal way to get into peoples country.

From my stay here in UAE, I realized one thing, UAE will always stick to their law no matter who you are and your oppression

So they have finally casted Dubai too...

Dubai was considerable to allow everyone without discrimination unlike the others that operate CRC scoring, we took that for granted, attacked their system with pronounced fraud, prostitution, cultism etc... little wonder other countries use scoring... who would not seek a better life after selling all you have while investing over N10m to get a visa..

Nigerians(majority) know how to close doors of oppurtunity through Greed, Selfishness, Vanity.... God forbid

You see now.
When they first reported this story on NL, I knew right away that it was an incomplete story. The lady claimed that Nigerians ate being denied and their passports taking away by UAE for no reason. I knew right away that it was half of the story.
But when the real story comes out, those blaming Nigerian and UAE UAE govts will not come back here to comment, they will just ignore.
Hal5of stories on social media and the real press self are half ir complete lies.
You have to read and use your own sense to determine the veracity of news and stories coming out these days.

Trust Nigerians to violate every laws. How can you apply for a family visa, and yet still travel all by yourself.....it doesn't make any sense.

People should make diligent inquiries before embarking on a trip. It's so stressful, having to get a visa, buy a flight ticket and travel such distance only to be return back.

Besides, we all need to join hands to re-build this country. Nigeria has gotten all we need.

The truth of the matter is that UAE don’t want Nigerians in their country bc most Nigerians are bad people and yes I’m Nigerian

Most guys just tarnish the image of all other Nigerians in UAE and they’ll never be found

Let’s all enjoy the music

Unfortunately, they don't need you, you need them.
So the law won't affect them.
