It's too late, the country is already deep in tribalism |

God bless you. You're intelligent. According to Nigerian constitution, no Nigerian can be stateless. Whatever state your parents came from automatically becomes your state. If your parents were not Nigerians, you too are not Nigerian, full stop! Statelessness shouldn't be an issue. Of course there's ulterior motive. MrMcJay: |

This is what you get when you don't keep records. Who is Nigerian? What accounts for those individuals online that claim that they are Nigerians yet are always cussing Nigeria and praising other African nations, are they really Nigerians? Why are so called Nigerians building universities in Benin Republic with Delta money? Why does Nigeria want to build railways for Niger Republic? Why when borders were closed so called Nigerians were more concerned about Togo? Is Atiku Cameroonian or Nigerian? Is the president Nigerian or from Niger Republic? Actually, when you begin to view many so called Nigerians as not a actually Nigerians in origin but perhaps from other countries that grew up in Nigeria, the tragedy of Nigeria and why many hate Nigeria begins to make sense. They hate Nigeria because maybe they are not actually Nigerians. I've met both Hutu and Tutsi in the UK that loved Rwanda in spite of the butchery that occurred. And I mean these people were refugees in UK, given asylum by the UK in the aftermath of the atrocities, not recent Rewandies But someone will claim that they are Nigerians and would be slagging off Nigeria eyeballs red with hate. Who else does this anywhere in the world? Now our so called leaders with questionable origins want to grant everyone in Nigeria citizenship. We are talking of refugees, nomadic Heardsmen, bandits, terrorists - everybody! Hopefully this news is just one of the many fake items posted on Niaraland. |

No one is stateless, make the effort to ascertain the origin of relevant persons, and document the hell out of them, rather than lazily grant mass citizenship in the form of amnesty to save cost. Remember Nigeria is targeted. |

Eagba: I more than agree to this as well. Move Nigeria to a truly secular state. |
