Some years back in a Yoruba university, a professor almost failed a class because I refused to prostrate for him. I was the only Igbo in a class of 12 people, and I did not prostrate like the rest of my colleagues. The matter eventually ended in court but the school administration blamed me. They claim this is Yoruba institution. They ignored that I have the right to greet who I want or not. That why didn't I just prostrate for him? That I must greet like a Yoruba, in the institution.
