BUHARI'S SILENT INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

A silent industrial revolution is happening in Nigeria. A nation hitherto focused on oil and gas receipts is now venturing silently, but confidently, into the world of heavy duty manufacturing of trains, ships and aircraft in what is set to place Nigeria among the elite group of nations engaged in heavy duty manufacturing.

Unlike in years past, this is not just empty talk, or paper projects. Actual construction is going on in all the sectors to actualize these commitments.

Welcome to Buhari's silent Industrial Revolution.

NIGERIA TO MASS PRODUCE HELICOPTERS

The Nigerian government is concluding its plan to begin mass production of helicopters for use and export.

Nigeria’s National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) on a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari over the weekend, assured that the country was ready to start the local manufacture of helicopters.

The team was led by Mohammed Sani Haruna, NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Haruna noted that there has been a lot of progress recorded and all the parts and components needed have been delivered from Belgium and training had commenced in earnest for pilots, engineers and technicians.

He explained that he was at the Villa to brief the president on the activities of the agency and to present its financial report as requested by the President.

Buhari had in 2021 approved that 1% of the Federation Allocation be given to NASENI to fund the Agency’s activities and engineering innovations.

The president also directed NASENI to collaborate with Dynali Company, a Belgian Helicopter Manufacturing Company, for the local production of helicopters.

NASENI, after the president’s directive, tweeted, “Made-in-Nigeria Helicopter Underway as @fmaviationng Begins Assessment Process.''
“The dream of Mr President to launch Made-in-Nigeria Helicopter before the end of his tenure is gradually coming to fulfilment as the project entered the assessment stage by the Aviation authorities.''

NIGERIA TO MASS PRODUCE TRAINS AND RAILWAY EQUIPMENT

Kajola Rail wagon assembly plant to create 5,000 jobs — Osinbajo (2019 report)

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said that the Rail Wagon Assembly Plant construction in Nigeria will generate about 5,000 direct and indirect jobs when completed, and boost socio-economic activities.

Osinbajo made this disclosure while performing the Official Ground Breaking Ceremony for the construction of the plant in Kajola, Ogun State on Saturday.

“The plant which is a private investment to be undertaken by Messers CCECC is central in the production of rolling stock, spare parts and maintenance of equipment needed for the railway modernisation programme being implemented by this administration.

“This ceremony is not just another event, it is a historic turning point. For us, the railway is not only an alternative and comfortable mode of travel.''

“It holds the master key to transforming commerce in Nigeria and across the continent. By linking our ports to rail lines and now, building the rolling stock locally, import and export business within, into and out of Africa’s largest market will never be the same.''

“When completed, it is expected that the plant would produce some parts of the wagons for the Lagos-Ibadan and Abuja-Kaduna rail lines, but also for the central rail lines and to satisfy the needs of other rail operators within the West- African sub-region.''

“The plant would offer an important platform for engineers, technicians, artisans and other professionals to gain the specialized skills required for the production and maintenance of rolling stock.''

“This will invariably conduce to spin-off businesses in the region of operation and across the country wherever rail networks are in existence.''

“The plant is expected to generate about five thousand (5,000) direct and indirect jobs,” Osinbajo said.

According to him, the siting of the plant here in Nigeria and the commitment to hiring Nigerians and Nigerian businesses affirms the President's directives in Executive Order 5.

Nigerian Navy To Begin Construction, Maintenance of Ships for other Countries

NNS Oji - Made in Nigeria

All is now set for the Nigerian Navy,NN to begin the construction and maintenance of ships for countries within the African continent and other countries of the globe, at the Naval Dockyard Limited , Victoria Island Apapa, Lagos.

Already, the Cameroonian Navy has indicated interest to partner with the Nigerian Navy in ship building and maintenance.

The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo , made the disclosure during the assessment tour of the yard, by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Musa Istufanus.

The NDL which is the premiere logistics facility of the NN that caters for Third Line or depot level maintenance of NN ships, according to the CNS, had successfully constructed several ships among which was a 31 meter Seaward Defence Boat Project which was commissioned by former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 as NNS ANDONI, as well as a 38.9meters Seaward Defence Boat (NNS KARADUWA) which was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari at the NDL in 2016.

At the moment, the CNS said a 43 metres Seaward Defence Boat 3 , which is still under construction at the NDL , would be launched in two months. After the launch, he boasted that the Naval Dockyard would be set to produce vessels for any country in the world.

The CNS said, “ We’re in partnership with Bureau Varitas , an international ship building certification company. Once they certify SDB 3, we should be able to build ships for any country in the world.''

This news sounds good.

However, the part that looks suspicious is "to".

Everything is written in future tenses.

Well, I can only wish them luck and wait for the real thing to start happening.

You are an ignorant person with nothing upstairs except negativity.

Stay there talking rubbish about ''looting'' while others cash out with their innovation.

Oh no. There is no ''to''.

Everything will just magically appear overnight, from manufactured trains and helicopters to fully-built and decked-out ships, all by magic.

No construction work, no projects to actualize them etc.

They will just appear immediately with no prior work, because you don't like to hear ''to''.

Why do I even bother with you semi-literates on this forum?

It's too early to start ranting. If you didn't see to in all the instances cited, it simply means you didn't read the article.

Trust me, you don't love this country and want to see it progress half how much I love it. While patriotism is a good thing, one must be able to separate love for country from love for incompetent leaders.

Buhari is an incompetent leader who has failed to keep his promises or lacks the wherewithal to keep his promises. Therefore, it's only natural to scrutinize everything that happens in his administration.

You're a real mumu to not understand my response, leading to this garbage you just typed.

The ''incompetent leader'' has done more infrastructure work than all your 'competent leaders' combined, from roads to bridges to railway to airports and seaports. And if you haven't noticed, then you're an 'incompetent observer'.
