For those who may not know, the Arab spring revolution was a series of protest against the government over bad governance, corruption, oppression and lack of trust in the elites. It started in Tunisia and within months spread out to 5 other arab nations namely: Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Syria and Bahrain where either the ruler was deposed (Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, Muammar Gaddafi, Hosni Mubarak, and Ali Abdullah Saleh).

A major slogan of the demonstrators in the Arab world is ash-shaʻb yurīd isqāṭ an-niẓām ("the people want to bring down the regime"wink. As months passed the protest degenerated in some armed uprising and within days spread throughout other arab nations namely: Morocco, Iraq, Algeria, Iranian Khuzestan, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, and Sudan.
