The guy has actually failed in the discharge of his duties. Permits for constructing houses are haphazardly given out. No oversight. No monitoring.

My daughter's Lego building blocks are even more solid than the houses in Lagos.

Ori bi be ko ni ogun ori fifo. There are basic problems here. Corruption from the ground level is a bigger problem.

i have worked on numerous construction projects in Lagos

even when we had all our papers, we had issues with LASBCA

on more than one occassion, it was interns who slapped stop work orders on our sites

they would then demand money for phone credit

the interns are a reflection of the corruption LASBCA and LASPPA

even if you sack three generations down - those coming up are simply waiting for their turn to chop

i have to wonder what can really be done to turn LASBCA and other agencies to institutions where the first consideration is getting it right rather than getting your settlement

as it is on can't even say if Salako was complicit, or was not on top of what was going on.

(if you come from outside an agency, you may never be able to understand all the scams going on)

The guy was simply ineffective and clueless. A qualified engineer with NEBOSH safety certification should man that ministry.

The rot starts from the head of the fish and extends to other parts.

Lagos state operatives are some of the most corrupt you could find anywhere. Lastma, LIRS, KAI, Environmental health services, etc.

The local governments are the worst. They have their own versions of official receipts of which the funds go into their pockets.

Name sake said ''DEVELOPER WAS HOSTILE'' and was sacked for incessant building collapse . Mr Governor has had enough hooge embrassment. It's only in saner climes that politicians resign. E shock me oooo shocked

IF I would rate Salako, he's one of the worst Commissioners.

Under him, we had the highest number of building collapse in Lagos State

Honourably resign before sack i guess.

Good one from the government of Lagos state, it shows proper accountability. All our political office holder must be properly scrutinise and check at all time to avoid mismanagement and misuse of governemnt positions which can cause relapse in the growth of the state and country in general.

Good ! Obis Certificate of Occupancy of his Lagos house will soon be revoked so that he can go and enjoy the fake Anambra he developed with his supporters. Someone that could not change Anambra to Lagos wants to change Nigeria to China. And some people believe him. Zombeism!

When we have conditions like this in federal govt through the ministries and security agencies , nigeria will grow exponentially not when you will reward an army general who is a war criminal with ambassadorship

the real matter is resign honorably or be sacked disgracefully
Re: Idris Salako Resigns As Lagos Commissioner For Physical Planning by plaindealer: 11:34pm On Sep 05, 2022
He should have been sacked a long time ago, including all their field employees collecting salaries and doing nothing, these clowns sit in their air-conditioned offices instead of going out to do building inspections and demolishing bad buildings.

They are lucky Nigeria is not America, the victims and their families for don sue and collect serious money from the LASG taya.

Yes,if such situation is colliding with your values, you can resign to stand tall amongst your pears ,as you will not allowed your name to be soiled! That is what makes a difference between White Man who wants future for their State and Children unlike the black man and African mentality.
But interestingly, most of the houses in Lagos Island,Ebute- Metta and Yaba, including Lekki Region have weak foundations because they are Water logged! That is just the truth!
