Who is the best president we never had?
For me i go for Papa Awolowo and second choice in MKO Abiola.

I asked you questions there because I actually expected answers from you, to them. Why these threads? We get about 10 of these a week and I am using this opportunity to ask you feel this is even needed?

Frankly,i simply posted the poser cos it crossed my mind.
I can only say a little about the antecedent of our past leaders and the response gotten does go a long way at enlightening many like me.
I told an elderly friend of mine that Nigeria would have been greater if Abiola had been allowed to be prez but his insight into Abiola/ITT scenario makes me wonder.
As suck as the thread might seem,some would still pick a thing or two from posting of others.
Did not see the previous post related to this topic though.

The best president Nigeria never had is "an educated president". When i say educated i'm not talking of just having a PHD or something. I'm talking of someone who understands Nigeria's problems and who has the technical know-how to solve this problems. People that fall into this category are Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Oby Ezekwesilli, Chukwuma Soludo, Mallam Nasir El rufai, Pat utomi, Mallam Sanusi etc.

The man who brought Television to Africa, who brought coca cola to Nigeria,who started free education in Nigeria, the only non-president who has GCFR as national honour, who brought the first regional university to Nigeria (OAU), who built the first international standard stadium in Africa,who built the first sky scrapper in Nigeria, who started Housing Estate in Nigeria, who was brought out of prison to stop civil war, when Yakubu Gowon did not know what to do. The one who managed our Finance during the civil war without borrowing a dime,when AZIKWE, Amadu Bello, etc did not know what to do?

Going by the words of Chief Ojukwu, He said Chief Awolowo is the Best President Nigeria never had. He was a colossus. We missed him. He who thought of Free Education as far back as 1955 before Nigeria's independence. No wonder Yoruba has the largest number of Accountants, Lawyers, Doctors, Bankers, Engineers, Companies' CEO's,Most industrialized areas,actuarial scientists, etc. Thank you Chief Awolowo-Primus Inter Pares.
