The Abia State Secretariat of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria located at No 122 Ikot Ekpene Road Umuahia was invaded by over twenty Mobile Policemen from the Abia State Government House Umuahia. The team of Policemen which was led by the Chief Security Officer(CSO) to the Governor of Abia state, CSP Ubani arrived at the Union Secretariat in the company of Mr Ihechi Enogwe, a contestant for the position of Chairman by 12:13 pm as delegates from all the Federal Establishments Units of the Union were casting their votes to elect the new Federal Chapter Executives in the State. The CSO and his team interrupted the election and insisted that the National Vice President, and the Assistant Secretary General, of the Union who were supervising the election must follow them to Government House to meet with the Chief of Staff to the Governor based on pettition brought before the Chief of Staff by Mr Enogwe.

Delegates who are Senior Civil Servants from Federal Establishments protested the intrusion of the Police operatives in the peaceful Union election because a contestant Mr Enogwe is connected to the Chief of Saff to the Governor. The National Vice President and the Assistant Secretary General were whisked away to the Government House while the election was concluded , results announced and the new Executive sworn in to pilot the affairs of the Chapter in Abia State for the next four years. The election was conducted under the supervision of the Controller, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mr Samuel Ogiriga.
