GET UNDERSTANDING
Understanding is the ability to understand something, the power to make experience intelligible by applying concepts and categories or the power of comprehending.
Understanding is God-given perception of the nature and meaning of things resulting in sound judgment and decision making.

Proverb 3:5-7
5. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6. in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
7. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.
Proverbs 4:1, psalm 136:5

The source of Understanding
• Understanding belongs to God {job 12:13}
• Understanding is a gift from God {proverb 2:6}
• Haman Understanding is limited {proverb 3:5}
• Gaining Understanding
- Through faith
- Through God's Spirit
- Through God's word
- Through wise teaching
Without understanding, wisdom will not be seen. A casestudy of King Solomon. What showcase the wisdom of Solomon is because of his understanding that prove how wise he his. 1king 3:16-28.

What helps your Understanding
1. Seeking God: Understanding God will make you seek after him
2. Obedience: Act of keeping the law and observe it. Psalm 119:34
3. Taking the right path. Proverb 2:9
4. Life: Understanding life so you may live. Psalm 119:144
5. Sensible living. Job 28:28

The results of Lack of Understanding
1. Foolish behavior
2. Death

Way to get Understanding
1. Get as mush life experience as possible
2. Spend more time reading than watching media
3. Allow yourself to make mistakes and own up to them
4. Listen more than you speak
5. Develop critical thinking skills
6. Keep a neutral open mind to allow wisdom to flourish
7. Learn not to throw the baby out with the bathwater
8. Allow yourself to change your mind

All this is a laundry list of that which is meaninglessness in the Kingdom of God. The law in the Kingdom of God, as given by Jesus Christ in the Parable of the 10 Talents/10 minas, for receiving from God, even where it concerns the getting of understanding is that you use what you have in order to gain more from God.

29 Everyone who uses what they have will get more. They will have much more than they need. But people who do not use what they have will have everything taken away from them. - Matthew 25 vs 29

Jesus expands on this rule in His teachings....

16 “No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. Instead, they put the lamp on a lampstand so that the people who come in will have enough light to see.
17 Everything that is hidden will become clear. Every secret thing will be made known, and everyone will see it.
18 So think carefully about what you are hearing. The people who have some understanding will receive more. But those who do not have understanding will lose even what they think they have.” - Luke 8 vs 16 - 18
