Botched Int'l Friendly: We Would Have Buried Eagles – Ghana by omamokta: 12:35pm On Aug 12, 2011
Ghanaians who came to London for the botched August 9 international friendlyagainst Nigeria left London writhing in pains as they were confident the Super Eagles would have fallen for the umpteenth time had both countries taken to the pitch at the Vicarage Road Stadium, Watford.

Few hours after it was confirmed that the game had been called off by the policefor security reasons, no thanks to the riots that engulfed England, some members of the Ghana National Supporters Union (GNSU) stormed the Watford Hilton hotel abode of the Eagles, where they exchanged pleasantries with their Nigerian counterparts led by Dr Rauf Ladipo.

One of the GNSU members, who simply gave his name as Koffi told Daily Sunsports that Nigeria was the biggest beneficiary of the events that led to the cancellation of the big game.
In Koffi's words: “We came to bury the Super Eagles in Watford. We “killed” your team way back in Brendford in 2007 when we beat you 4-1. We would have buried the Eagles today (Tuesday) in Watford.”
Koffi pointed out that the Black Stars were battle ready for Nigeria and would not have allowed the Eagles to win the game.

“We know Nigeria came here on a revenge mission, I tell you it would not have been possible today. We take every game against Nigeria very serious and we want to continue the dominance.” It would be noted that organisers of the friendly have fixed October 11 as new date for the botched friendly.

Thank God for the shift, it would ve been a disaster. We had a depleted team, Osaze was not there, Mikel "had" injury, Enyeama has visa problem. Come to think of it, why is it that everytime Super Eagles has a match Mikel will get injured before the match and recover after the match and so on and so on. We need committment from these guys, else our coach should go for glory hungry boys. Up Super Eagles!

Ghana should be the thanking God that the match embarrasment was shifted. However, with some of the key players not present, it would have been a disaster for Ghana.

May be in October the embarrasment will be lessen.

Chei Ghana!
Re: Botched Int'l Friendly: We Would Have Buried Eagles – Ghana by lekibaba: 3:49pm On Aug 12, 2011
I do not agree that if the match was not postponed, Ghana would have buried us. Though, we had serious injury to some of our key players. I have confidence that at worst, it would have tuned out a slim victory or draw against the Ghanaians. Thanks. Lakeside.

As i always say the spectators always know how to play the game better than the players, infact spectators are the BEST players.
This match proberbly would have ended in a draw if it had been played.

Yeah, Koffi ws rite on-spot. Ghana coul've easily goten us buried so deep. A freezin Nsofo tryin 2setle in d Mosco cold, an unsetled Swizz-bound KalUch & an injur'prone Anicheb wuldbnt hav saved us frm their Akkra-hungry jaws. Only Joel would've been our matador 4d nite

This takes my mind back2 Jan wen my boys (d Blues) were saved d blushes of an embarasin defeat @de hands of ManU by frosty weatha durin our pathetic run last season.

Bring on Madgascar & d Argies, We ar in a beta frame o'mind 4them

Re: Botched Int'l Friendly: We Would Have Buried Eagles – Ghana by Princek12(m): 12:46am On Aug 13, 2011
Ghana what? Their team did not even qualify for the U-20 World Cup. They should shut the phuck up. Nigeria is still the most consistent African soccer team, always performing well at all levels all the time.

Ghana presently has a good team, but it is just by happenstance and a fluke. Their current team is dominated by players from their last U-20 World Cup championship team. Why did they not qualify this time around to defend their gold medal? Because they suck.

Where is Senegal, which had a good team in the, I believe, 2002 World Cup? They may have a good team in another 20 years. But Nigeria was a silver medalist in the Beijing Olympics U-23 tournament and in the U-17 World Cup, and we are on track to win the gold medal in this U-20 World Cup.

Ghanaians should sharap!!!!!
