Woman, Learn From Deborah! by topshore(f): 1:18pm On Sep 20, 2022
Scripture Texts: Judges 4:4-7; Proverbs 31:10-31.

Today, we'll talk about a great woman in the Bilbe- Deborah and how women of this generation can learn from her.

Deborah was a mother in Israel and a deliverer. A wife, prophetess and judge whom God used to save the people of Israel at a challenging time. She was dauntless, determined, energetic, confident, intelligent, clear-sighted yet she was not power drunk. A woman of great character indeed!

Deborah was highly esteemed by her people because she respected everyone despite her high position and strength. This is evident when she shared her plans to overcome Jabin and Sisters to bring freedom and deliverance to her people. She did not take the actions all by herself because she had the power, she shared the vision with Barack, one of Israel's military leaders. Barack refused to engage in the campaign unless Deborah was ready to counsel and guide him and others
She gave the word of battle to commence and the Israelites, with God's help, overcame the great army of Sisera (Judges 4:14-16).

What Are the Lessons to Learn From Deborah?

All women in these generation can learn from Deborah with some of the attributes she possessed below.

1. Deborah had passion for freedom and deliverance for her people. In this generation, women should rise up in prayer and claim freedom for their generation, their nation, town and family.

2. Deborah never attributed praises meant for God for herself. She gave all due glory to God. In whatever we do, we should never accept the glory due to God for He only used us by giving us such opportunity to do it.

3. Deborah reflected the leadership attitude of a godly woman who fears the Lord in Proverbs 31:10-31. We should also emulate her in this aspect.

4. Deborah is among the outstanding women in history. Make yourself stand out by making yourself available in God's House. God can make you a vessel unto honour if you yield yourself completely to Him.

5. Deborah was a mediator, a counsellor and an adviser. She had the ability to plan, direct and delegate duties, just as she called Barak to share her vision with him. She encouraged Barak and acknowledged his role in leading the Israelites to victory. Let women in this generation acknowledge and give honour to whom it is due.

6. Deborah was trusted by her people. Because she was very confident, courageous yet motherly, her people trusted her. Do people around you trust you, woman!?

7. Deborah was a mother in Israel. She didn't question God. She simply had the faith to do what God told her. Whether the people followed her or not did not bother her. Her only concern was doing what the Lord called her to do without allowing anything to get in the way.

8. Deborah refused to allow her gender to hinder her from doing God's Work. Nothing and no one should hinder you from doing God's work as a woman.

9. Deborah maintained a healthy balance between marriage and ministry. She was a wife and prophetess (Judges 4:4). She fulfilled her ministry and family responsibilities without allowing one to hinder the other. Every minister, whether male or female should live a healthy balanced life. Let there be a healthy balance between your ministry and other departments of your life. Do not allow any conflict between the family and the ministry.

10. Conclusively beloved, let's be good examples, whether you are a man or woman, like Deborah and make yourself available for God's use.

However, you can't do this on your own. You need the help of the Holy Spirit. And for you to connect the Holy Spirit, you must have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and He must be alive in your heart.

If you are yet to give your life to Christ Jesus and you would like to, just say this short prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I come to You now, come into my life, take control of my life and change my world. I say bye-bye to the devil, I enter into the Kingdom of Light. Thank You Jesus, in Jesus mighty name I pray, amen".

Congratulations!!!

God bless you.

Peace!

Please don't attempt to use God's name to hide what is your personal delusion or "God" may make your end even more miserable than your beginning in this. undecided
