Dr. OGUNBIYI’s Comeback Rejection: Our decision is final.

- Ward Chairman insists decision to reject him was a unanimous decision by the ward executives.
- Dismisses claims of earlier denial as fake news.

The PDP Caretaker Chairman of ward 5, Ayedire Local Government, Ile Ogbo, Osun State, Alhaji Makinde Muftau has dismissed a viral report circulating online that he has denied the letter issued on behalf of the executive members of Ayedire Ward 5 on their decision to reject Dr. Akin OGUNBIYI’s request to rejoin the People Democratic Party (PDP) barely five months after he abandoned the party to contest the governorship election under the Accord Party in the state.

He reiterated that the decision was a unanimous decision taken in the best interest of the party at the ward level and the state in general, affirming that the resolution is final and has been communicated to the party leadership in the state.

“Whoever said I denied that we rejected in totality the welcoming back of Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi back into our party at the ward 05 Ayedire LG is lying and malicious. I cannot deny it because it was a joint decision taken after an extensive meeting within the ward executives where we take into account the fact that Dr Akin Ogunbiyi has never contributed anything to the party at the ward level or even attend any meeting at the ward since 2018. “

Reacting to the fake news being attributed to him, he said “That is their stock in trade. Remember they did all sort of things to divide the party since 2018 and cause leadership problem to actualize their selfish ambition which we are yet to resolve completely, I am the caretaker chairman of Ward 5 and since we communicated our joint decision to the party leadership in the state earlier today, I have not issued any letter to the contrary because the decision was taken together with all other stakeholders of the party in the ward level and that remains our position. It is even glaring before their re-admission that they have started manipulations and impersonations. They have started another war with the party already.”

He urged members and supporters of the party to be rest assured that they will not allow any personality or agent of division to infiltrate the party again especially at this time that the APC in the state are finding different ways of destabilizing the PDP in the state.

RE: NOTIFICATION OF RETURN TO THE PARTY BY DR.AKIN OGUNBIYI: DECISION OF WARD 05, AYEDIRE PDP TO REJECT THE NOTIFICATION

With reference to the letter of notification by Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi the Accord Party's candidate for the 2022 Osun GOVERNORSHIP election dated 13th September,2022 to rejoin the People's Democratic Party(PDP), we the Ward Caretaker Committee of PDP, Ward 05, Ayedire Local Government of Osun State and on behalf of the Party members of the ward,hereby strongly reject Dr.Akin Ogunbiyi's purpoted return in it's entirety as he is not worthy of re-admission into our great Party for the reasons stated as follows:

1. Dr.Akin Ogunbiyi since 2018, throughout the period he aspired to contest on the platform of the PDP which he later dumped to join the Accord Party in 2022,he never attended any PDP Ward meeting in Ward 05,Ayedire,and he never participated in any Party activities at the Ward level since 2018 until he dumped the Party in 2022.

2.The said Accord Party chief constitutes serious threats to the safety, integrity and success of the PDP right from 2018 till date as he specialises in deploying his network for rabid anti-party activities with a target to truncate electoral successes of the party;,his notification letter to re-join the PDP attest to this as he still addressed himself and signed the letter as the Osun State Accord Gubernatorial Candidate.

3. The said Accord Party chief in 2018 did all devilish things to stop the party's electoral victory right the party primaries, several damaging litigations against the party and his direct working against the party to lose his local government and ward during the 2018 elections; The report of a fact-finding Committee set-up by the Party attest to the fact that Dr.Akin Ogunbiyi was behind all litigations against the Party and her candidate in 2018(i.e Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke).

4. The said Accord Party chief was for decades a close ally of the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu and he has constantly being serving as a mole of APC to destroy PDP from within.

5. From 2018 to the just concluded election in Osun state, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi expanded his anti-party activities first by engineering the fractionalisation of the state chapter of the party through spurious leadership claims and by deliberate divisive activities designed to weaken the PDP preparatory to the July 16th, 2022 governorship election;the catalyst of the damage done to our Party by Dr.Akin Ogunbiyi is part of what expelled Prince Dotun Babayemi took advantage of in fighting the Party till date.

6. Before his defection to the Accord Party, Ogunbiyi rebuffed all reconciliatory moves and mobilised his team in cohort with the APC to launch the most ferocious damaging media and character assassination attacks against the PDP and its governorship candidate;his close allies and ardent supporter were those who sponsored malicious petition against our governorship candidate during the Party's Gubernatorial screening which he marketed on National Television and in the media, the said petition formed the fulcrum of the APC's election petition at the Tribunal against the PDP in the recently held Osun governorship election .

7. The said Dr Ogunbiyi also engaged in underground offensive against the PDP in close coordination with the APC , designing strategies he and his team calculated would truncate any success the PDP may record at the last election;

8. As if to prove his loyalty to the APC rather than the Accord Party, Ogunbiyi proceeded to lose his ward and local government to the APC and thereafter absconded from the local government until the divine emergence of PDP as victor at the last election;

9. We at Dr Ogunbiyi's ward suffered emotional and psychological trauma for the pain and anguish he put us through, for his persistent records of anti-party activities and for his continuous working against the interest of PDP members who seeks the governance through our party;

10. Very shocking is the post-election antics and nefarious activities of Dr Ogunbiyi as he is again colluding with APC to ensure the failure of the PDP at the ongoing Tribunal.

In view of all the above, we have resolved not to re-admit Dr Ogunbiyi into the PDP as he is a living and present danger to the successes so far recorded by the PDP. His return to the party at this delicate time amounts to planting a mole within the house at a time of war.

We also want to note that Dr Ogunbiyi's electoral strength has been tested and found to be unfounded and mere ruse. In the last election, he garnered only 4000 votes for Accord Party as a governorship candidate throughout Osun State. He has nothing to, in our own estimation ,to contribute positively to the impending victory of our Presidential Candidate,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.He is therefore a negative influence who must not be given any place of honour ,right and privileges within our great Party .

We consequently call on leaders of the party at all levels to take note of our position which we took in the best interest of the party and its members at the ward.
