Just to be clear, becoming an online freelancer with the wrong information is worse than being ignorant about it

The more the business model becomes popular, the more people establish their own views of the business, some leading the majority astray, while others end up seeing it from the negative view

Here are the major misconceptions about freelancing:

1) You're your own boss

In a previous post, I said that Freelancing gives you a true feeling of being a boss, which is very true...

In fact, this is not really a myth, but this is just half the information...

You don’t have a boss...you have several bosses...

As much as you have the power to reject a job offer, but it's their choice if you get the job, accept your work, and paying you on time...

If you compare, you’ll realise that they have the greater power...

Focus on making connections with your clients. They will be the boss you would gladly work for...

2) It's easier than a 9-5 job

The opposite is the truer statement

Freelancing grants the benefit of having a better work-life balance...

You get to set your work hours, schedule your day, and work less...

However, working less has to do with attending with clients

There is nothing like less work when building your portfolio, acquiring clients, improving your skill set to compete at a high level in your niche...

This means the freelancer doesn’t get to clock out when their work is complete, unlike the employee...

All an employee needs to do is their regular job and they need to worry about any other job...

The Freelancer stays in charge of every part of his business...

Freelancers work as much as the average employee, sometimes more...though they work on their terms

3) Freelancers always make more money

Unfortunately, this is not always the case...

It’s true that a freelancer can out earn the regular employee, but it’s also true that he can earn less than a gate keep, monthly because it takes time to build excellent business practices and experience top freelancers earn more than new freelancers as the create rapport with their clients.

As their testimonials and results increase, they charge more...

4) Freelancers are always passionate about their jobs

You must love what you do to scale is faster, isn’t it?

But this job is not always beans and garri or bread and butter, so freelancers aren’t always passionate about it...

Sometimes they hate it and don’t feel like working...

It’s natural, when you’re starting out, you will be stuck, frustrated the majority by of the time

If you want to succeed in this business, you must overcome this. You give up; you Bleep up...

Give it time plus your complete dedication. It will always pay... provided you’re applying the right information.

Freelance work can be a thrilling and lucrative next step in your career. As with any career decision, the best way to make a move is with research and well-laid career goals.
