Not in all cases, the wife was given automatic employment because the husband died in active service. RIP to the dead.
I was moved by the CG's compassionate words to the deceased widow. This is the type of boss that care about their staff. I once worked in a company where I witnessed a robbery incident I came for inspection and barely 5min after my arrival 5 armed men swooped on us and robbed everyone present. After the incident I called the MD immediately to inform him about the sad development only for him to inquire how much was stolen and that those on duty should pay whatever was taken by the robbers! I was dumbstruck at his lack of empathy I couldn't believe what I heard and refused to pass the message to some of the injured staff. Thank God for the DSS that apprehended these criminals a few days later after they killed someone at another location that same night. I resigned from the company 2months later because I couldn't come to terms with such wickedness.
