Guys , I see alot of people appreciating the commander of NSCDC. I thought we are educated? It's because we the masses accept these kinds of practices that is why they exist. Pls how do you expect a woman to work in an environment where she lost her husband. Does she even have flair for that kind of job? Around the globe, there is a life insurance policy or permanent disability insurance policy put in place for law enforcement officers. If they had something like that there will not be need for these kinds of pity party kind of job. So if the commander didn't do it, what will then happen to the widow. Nigerians let us demand for the right things from our leaders so that everyone will enjoy.

You are wrong, I have worked both as civil and public servants. It is not like that in the civil/public service. He died while on duty, that's what constitutes active service.

Automatic employment is not even a right even if he died on duty, it is usually on compassionate grounds.

I was opportuned to witness two fire incidents involving two staff of one of the govt agencies I worked (NOSDRA) Staff A died while on a crude oil spill site in bayelsa state, staff b died at home due to carelessness with gas n lantern at home, he died while trying to rescue his children from wild fires in his home.

Wife of staff A was given automatic employement, this is because investigation showed that safety measures were not in place because staff A went for the Job.

wife of staff B was not given, just 50k was given to her and then fast processing of her husband's benefits and pension. There are other many instances like that.
