You are fool.

What is GDPR in Europe?

What is CCPA.

All these kids that have a default setting of RESIST.

You don't even understand the topic but your first instinct is to OPPOSE.

Don't mind them.

Very antagonistic to even things that will benefit them.

Vanguard has problems. Someone whose award of professorship is not yet settled is their Prof Pantami.
Why am I even talking when a chief executive terrorist is in charge of the country and an executive terrorist is the minister of communication and digital economy.?

Our problem is not the dearth of laws but the will to effect them.

In most cases, when they are applied, they are used as political tools to hunt down perceived political opponents or critics of government.

In short, there are lorry-loads of laws in Nigeria but are not applied evenly but selectively.

In Nigeria, there are those who are "above the law" and by so doing defeat the very purposes of the laws in the first place.

Even the FG has a trademark for disobeying court judgments when it deems such judgments aren't in its favour.

We need a government/leadership by example and not some "do as I say not as I do" mindset!

And you with avowed affinity and love for Al Quaeda terrorists group is not criminal by superseding over the critical data of millions of Nigerians?

"...It is no longer in doubt that government is obsessed with going after perceived opponents and critical media, while terrorists and their sponsors are allowed to freely transact business without being monitored and arrested...."

And who is presently leading Afghanistan? Taliban.
Taliban are not terrorist, they are people fighting for them territory and they have it back today.

Someone that debated bokoharam that what they are doing is wrong - This is his most recent engagement/talk about or with jihadist.

The Man is not a politician, he is just a competent hand employed to work for nigerian.

When no one knows that this guy was a muslim, he ws greatly praised here(Nairaland) for his credentials, qualifications and experience during there presentation to the senate.

What has changed?

I think Nigeria is still living in an alternate reality. You cannot stop the way data is harvested and used. All these agencies should know that they will become more irrelevant. The internet cannot be controlled, crypto will not be controlled, data will not be controlled.

Another empty head who think to be woke means to be anti-government.

Once they see any news emanating from the government, their default setting is to lament ignorantly. Even if it is for their own good or the common good, they are too sunken in their arrogant ignorance to comprehend.

it's a redundant law. Those who criticize this man are within reason. It's same man who introduced NIN that was just a fruitless exercise achieving nothing like previous administration had done in new driver's licence and plate number.

Most of our data hubs like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter already have mechanism to protect end-to-end encryption for data. Plus the breach of privacy also covers personal data.

The question is what's pantami up to? Is this another bogus, attention seeking proposal or some hidden agenda?

True, Facebook and insta have data protection but i assure you it's not for Africans. Their data protection laws only covers European countries

Go and read EULA

And you will understand that most of this organisation only protects Europeans meanwhile they can mine the data of others especially Africans

The Chinese understood the laws that's why they prohibited their citizens from using such platforms

All semantics but no sensibility. What vacuum is the dingbat talking about? What data is he protecting? Once you see Fulanis working feverishly to put a law on place, be sure that the law is going to be an instrument both of oppression of others and concealment of seriously indicting information.
