So flooding happens in lagos alone ? What’s wrong with these kind of people for Pete’s sake?
Have you heard of Venice and other coastal cities around the world ? Even in Nigeria, the flooding is going to affect coastal states like Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Anambra, Ogun, Rivers, etc. as at today, Kogi state and most especially, Lokoja is battling this problem. Why does everything about Lagos bring sadness to your souls ? SMH
The difference here is Lagos state taking possible precautions by warning her residents before hands to avoid loss of life’s, while other states are docile as usual.
I don’t blame people like you though, I blame our low level of education and lack of proper parental support back home.

Just curious ... what is your home State? Do you know this forum is international? Do you realize what impression you are giving others of Nigerians? Thanks to others we are already branded as scammers .... why would you now want us to be branded as ignorant and backward tribal bigots? What has your comment got to do with the topic? Nothing you have written has anything to do with the topic. Is it as soon as you see Lagos ... you must write about Tinubu? It must be he has done something to you ... or your mother for you to have flashbacks at the mention of Lagos or his name. The world doesn't need to know. When this happens... my advice to you is to stick your fingers somewhere and tickle yourself instead of having them on the keyboard typing ignorance.
I'm almost sure wherever you live outside of your village ... you are one that help run down the quality of life in that building or community. Just don't come and be doing same here to this forum. You have something to say...unrelated to any topic... be man enough to open your own thread.

@ topic .... I'm missing something. People must evacuate.... is it rainfall will cause the river to rise and cause flooding? ... or is it the conservancy may release water to cause flooding? Rain .....we have no control.... but do over the conservancy. We must evacuate because he's not sure if they would release from the conservancy? ... can someone help me understand?..I'm confused.

You need to read before dropping your comment

It’s not only about flooding but the rising of the Ogun-Osun river… which is a periodic thing. They will open the dams for the release of water so as to reduce the volume.

They just have to reduce the water load/ volume in the dams periodically, whether they do this or not, there’s bound to be flooding cos if they don’t release the waters, it will overflow and the effect will be more ravaging than release of water. People in those areas are used to this periodic release of the dam water flows when its level rises.

Did they provide houses for them to relocate to in the upland or do they have mobile homes that they carry to the upland.

The LASG will absolve itself because it will say they announced the imminent flood.

By then Lagos as a state will seize to exist, because it will be submerged.

Thanks. I get that... but they must know when they are going to release the water.... let's say on Saturday ... so water level in the river will rise from Saturday. Why not give that warning.... people on low lying areas need to evacuate by Saturday or face extensive flooding from water released from the conservancy. Why can't the conservancy say when? From the report ... the conservancy is keeping it a secret ... they are not saying if nor when they would release water. This should not be. As it is... people may evacuate... the conservancy doesn't release ... the people return ... the conservancy then release... then we'll be hearing speeches on the people were warned but were just stubborn.

It is a water logged area… even if you channel such huge gutters, it will get full at some point due to heavy volume

It’s either that area is replanned or status quo remains.
