This is what "state capture" looks like Dangote colluded with the government of that time to take control of state assets with compensation. The company Dangote has failed to provide any evidence that it paid for the plant.

I don't really have the details but I don't trust the Government. Am very sure if the plant just like Benue Cement was not taken over by Dangote, those plants would have been hideouts for criminals. Now the plant is doing well they want to claim it. Why not pull resources to restore the Ajaokuta Steel company.

We are not saying that Kogi or the federal government, will be a better manager of the cement plant, but the lack of due diligence in Dangote procuring the plant is called crony capitalism or state capture.
The consequence is the reason why Dangote has a national monopoly on cement in Nigeria and the cost of Cement is very expensive compared with other African countries.

The only issue I have with the setup is that Audu government conceived the idea and invited dangote, what transpired between them was never in the public domain and I believe also that the then house of assembly too were not carried along. Audu is dead now , we would have heard from him what transpired between him and dangote. It was rumoured that only paltry sum of 3% of the total company structure is what dangote allocated to Kogi government

The matter will be resolved. Government is a continuum. Can Dangote unilaterally enter Kogi State factory and.start mining resources? That is impossible. So it was a negotiated transaction that was not properly structured. Noise making and grandstanding will not solve this problem. Can Kogi state afford to pay dangote for all the capital committed in the business? Time is of the essence on this matter. Obajana is a fraction in the cement portfolio of Dangote Cement. We do not need to create tension. Dangote Idustries need to have it's template for these acquisitions because of occurrences like this. All stakeholders must be accommodated and properly documented. This saying that "it provided job for the the indigenes" to me, is overrated. Every organization must always favour the indigens of the land upon where it is situated, due to several strong reason. The issue on this, according to the report, is the illegalities in process surrounding dangote's acquisition of the said obajana coupled with unremmittance of tax and related dues.
