Police Escorted Man To A POS, Withdrew ₦100k In Lagos. How He Got His Money Back by nlfpmod: 8:09am On Oct 07, 2022
As shared by Oluwagbadura:

The Nigerian Police force today (6th of October, 2022) at 15:44 escorted me to a POS and withdrew 100k of my hard earned money.
I NEED HELP!

At around 13:45 the Nigerian police stopped me at Soliki Aguda, Lagos, and conducted the usual search. After NOT finding anything on me, they proceeded to seize my phone and company laptop and tagged me a yahoo boy. My crime, they said, is that I do not have an ID card as a freelancer.

They searched my phone. They called me a criminal for chatting with my friends on WhatsApp. They threatened to shoot and lock me up!

Next, they took me to their station, just few meters away, then forced me to admit to being a criminal. I refused.

They then asked me to write a statement and at the end I signed papers to bail myself. I transferred 100k to the POS vendor, and then paid 2k naira for charges. See screenshot.

There were 6 officers.
Names of the officers I could get
AbdulKareem Sulaiman
Ojo ozeigbe - this man threatened to deal with me in cell and nothing will happen

The rest were in mufti including the one who acted as their lead.

All of these things happened at the Police divisional headquarters, soliki aguda.

I need Justice and my money back, please!

How will crime stop since the law is the crime in a place like Nigeria? Criminals in uniform. Thunder fire these bastards.

The worst and the most useless police in the world, very mean and heartless people. They can never assist you with anything rather they only extort and kill innocent people. Call them when there's a robbery, they will never near there. Heartless Devils

Hmm... The Police and Politicians are from among the Nigerian Masses. The majority of the Population need Re-Orientation!

We Need Leaders like the ones that commented below to Lead this Country into a Greater Destiny and Future. These are the kind of Political, Religious, Traditional and Financial Leaders we need because they can be trusted with Nigerian Resources, not the ones with irredeemably corrupt directionless lost Souls. The best Advices I've read on NL lately are the ones below. Like if you agree, share if not.

I thank ALMIGHTY that there are still very sensible and wise People in Nigeria. The Best Comments below gives me hope that a better Nigeria is still Possible. As for majority of brainless Egoistic Slaves of destructive Pride that are hailing the guy for treating the lady and her family as crap, your very own sisters and daughters shall soon marry this kind of myopic heartless guy with no iota of empathy, respect or true love in his heart.
boxer022:
Without mincing words I will tell you straight forward, this guy doesn't love you at all. Where I saw the first sign was when you said your mum had bad feelings towards him. He has a very bad character and is very arrogant to say the least. I am sure you didn't date him for sometime to know his true character. Thank your God very well that he didn't want to continue the marriage because you would have surely regretted it. Don't feel to bad with yourself or feel dejected over this, instead be very elated that God showed you who he truly is before proceeding with the marriage. You will surely get your own man, I can assure you that. That type of person is not ready for marriage at all, it must be his parents pressuring him to get married.
twosquare:
Better run...don't you guys did counseling at first, no matter how little?
Someone who can disrespect your father, you go see shege.
A lot of men arguing here lacks home training. I can't even do that to my father-in-law or her aunt. Wọn ò bimi da. Because I'm well brought up. If I don't like something, there is a diplomatic way to resolve it... And if you still insist, you're on your own...no one will place knife on my neck...
People should understand that during wedding preparations, tempers flare coz na the feathers of money dem dey pluck from each other's body...

As for the man, that's total wrong. And please, you too, pẹlẹ lakọ o labo.
Find a good man...not all these àwọn ọkùnrin irọlẹ ayé.
bukatyne:

First, one year is too short for a long distance relationship.

Secondly, you dodged a serious bullet. You do not want a man/husband who is not humble/invested enough in your marriage to be respectful to your family.

I also do not understand the kind of engagement with your family that would lead to him being rude to them especially your father. Especially because your father was his fan and would have seen him through rose tinted eyes; also, a lot of men 'respect' their women/wives' father's irrespective of the madness they bring to the table.

While your family members are third parties in your marriage, PLEASE marry a man who respects and regards them.

Also his mom calling your mom without trying to make it work speaks volumes. Except she doesn't want the marriage to hold, she would have tried to pursue peace even if both of you (intended couple) are misbehaving. Or even get an understanding of what happened.

An advise to you: carry your family more respectably. I don't see any reason why he should be so 'familiar' with your family that he is 'arguing' with them. Except your aunt is an integral part of your household, I am wondering the business they have together in the first place.

mariahAngel:

All signs could be ignored o, but you see that "my dad complained that he was rude to him.
Same as my mum" part? Boy bye!

As a lady, it is too much of a risk to settle with a man who does not respect nor regard one's parents.

Thank God,
You did the right thing by not acting stubborn but true to yourself and seeking justice later, because some of these police are EVIL and could waste you before you can seek justice.

I also hope they signed not to intimidate you in the future?

This is what endsars was centred around. They ended SARS - a strong symbol of police corruption - but not the corruption itself. Funny enough, endsars anniversary is around the corner.

You are right.

The struggle continues.

Extortion (Corruption) continues in every government office that interacts with the public, both at the federal and state level.

The difference is that police do theirs with a threat to your life or freedom.

But the Extortionism is a cycle. What the police collect is their share of what Segun has collected using his own station as a civil servant, and what Hamza has collected from his dad who used his own office as a Customs or Immigration officer.

From Government offices to Airports to police check points, we Nigerians are still extorting Nigerians.

Buhari no try at all in eliminating Corruption within the general society, while political corruption was handled with a political conscience.

What is the conclusion concerning disciplinary action against the officers involved?

Benjamin Hundeyin should ensure to keep Lagosians abreast of this case and its rightful conclusion.
