Philanthropy can be defined as the altruistic concern for human beings, as manifested by donations of money, property, or work to needy persons or to institutions advancing human welfare. With an uncommon passion to bring succour to people and society, philanthropists have truly come to define humanity.
 
One distinguished personality who exemplifies and has manifested all this qualities and rare virtue of philanthropy for many years till date is Otunba Segun Adewale. Popularly called Aeroland, Adewale is an astute politician whose extraordinary giving lifestyle has not diminished despite not holding public office. Segun Adewale sees political campaign as an opportunity to give substantially irrespective of political affiliation, creed, tribe, religion, age gender or disability.  
 
Beyond the cosmetic approach to empowerment by the run-of-the-mill politicians, Adewale has touched many lives with his life changing initiatives through provision of infrastructure, social investment and skills acquisition for over a decade in Lagos. The Aeroland political brand has impacted many lives across the ten local governments in Lagos West. It is a common tale among many residents to hear many beneficiaries of Segun Adewale kind gesture discuss about his large heart and the impact of his life saving interventions like dredging of canals,, building of boreholes, scholarship for indigent students.

For some other residents, they still use household items like Televisions, generators, DVDs, phones, laptops and other gifts they received from the Campaign train of Otunba Segun Adewale in previous elections.  For Segun Adewale, giving is in his DNA and he has demonstrated that giving is the attribute of the kind hearted and not the wealthy.
 
For many years in Lagos West, Segun Adewale's name has become synonymous with philanthropy .Though he is wealthy but definitely not the wealthiest, he stands out because of his philanthropic activities, an unparalleled rare kind of  generosity. Our society is replete with wealthy individuals who lack the capacity to give despite their humongous wealth. By any standard the country is filled with wealthy people with no regard for the common man. I have often asked myself why many youths amongst us celebrate fellow Nigerians who made the rich list, like it drives economic growth? 
 
 It is instructive to note that Segun Adewale is loved by many who have consistently voted massively for him in elections. In fact, he has never lost an election in Lagos West. It is on record that he was CHEATED repeatedly, including the 2015 election. It would be recalled that while the vote counting was going on, he already won seven out of the ten local governments he contested clearly. The PRINCIPALITIES of Lagos politics held the voice of the returning officer who then could not announce him as the winner. They chased out his agents and they announced his opponent as the winner and asked him to meet them in court. The youth saw all this happening. 
 

Why do some of us need to praise those politicians who have stolen our common wealth and plundered our resources for the flimsiest of reasons, like they are doing us a favour?. Segun Adewale is an embodiment of humility, standards and generosity as he is standing for the well being of the masses and we believe such a man is worthy of that seat.

Won't you rather vote for him as a Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District come 2023?
