(c) free university education; and
(d) free adult literacy programmer.
The government is breaching the constitutional provision, Unfortunately most are blind and hypocrite that they can't hold government accountable

so when they are paid 8months, students will be ordered out of the moon to resume tests and exams, what will government do for students to address their depression and mental stagnancy for 8months for a cause not their fault ? 8months house rent wasted, 8 months of their lives wasted, some can no longer go to NYSC. If ASUU must be compensated, what of students? or you think it is easy to battle depression and also go and write tests and exams ?

ASUU must never be paid a dime, who want battle depression make e battle depression, next time them go get sense before them declare indefinite strike.

You have said it all my brother. You just spoke my mind. If they pay them this eight months salary, before long, they will still repeat this nonsense.

4 things may happen if ASUU disobeys the court

1. ASUU might get deregistered and replaced with CONUA.
2. ASUU president and his NEC leaders may get arrested.
3. Lecturers who refuse to resume will be sacked.
4. ASUU might be declared an illegal union and banned for life.

All in all, it doesn't look any good for ASUU in any way at all whichever way you may want to look at it.

Their pride and stubbornness has finally finished them.

This or that, students will bear the brunt.

Ngige's ego spoilt the discussion. You refused the Education Minister's intervention and failed to allow Gbaja's meeting to settle the issue at least till May.

The same way he handled the Doctors issue. Now, they are leaving in droves. The man is a bad manager. He talks and acts before listening. To much gra gra.

The lecturers are also ready to leave in droves especially the young and brilliant ones. Those old and archaic lecturers will continue to teach with old syllabus with no 21st century input.

In your own opinion, you can't see anything wrong with the nonsense ASUU Is doing pls be sincere to yourself.

they should take data of all federal university students and pay them 80k each, 10k for each month spent at home for what is not their fault.

if the strike enters 9th month it’s 90k each student irrespective of course or level.

ASUU. should be the ones to pay the students compensations fee. Not FG

The anger those lecturers will pour on the students will be beyond imagination. Imagine, not been paid for almost 9 months and they think lecturers will act normal in class room.

Na who fault. Na them no want salary now... Who ask them to de house for eight months.
So they think they can act so lawless and go away with it free. Or you suggesting FG pay people for being rebellious and not working for eight months and still receive salary.
ONLY CRIMINALS DEMAND MONEY THEY DIDNT WORK FOR.

ASUU may likely suspend the strike in order to appeal the judgement of NIC as directed by the Appeal Court. This will seem a more safer way to pursue its course. However, suspending the strike doesn't mean go and lecture on the part of the lecturers. This people are already battered by hunger and need money to take care of themselves. Letting go eight months salaries almost a year's income has shattered their interest in the job. I am think how dissatisfied they are already. I am of the opinion that gov should try and address this issue from an humanistic view point and not being too legalistic. After all it is the failure on their part that led to this. To cap it all, things will NEVER EVER be the same again in the university system.

They didn't work for 8 months due to the decision they took on their own.

They deserve no salary for these 8 months.

If I'm the FG, I will use the money to sort the rent of every student that suffered for that 8 months.

An intellectual body that keep striking for 41 years can't be said to be truly intellectual.

Only fools do the same thing all over again while expecting a different result.

Junior lecturers in that Union will be advised to resume lectures.

I don’t think the ASUU chairman will be arrested. The public sympathy may turn against the government if they arrest the man, currently the public sympathy is against ASUU for being anti-Court, two courts.

so, urge lecturers to teach in line with court order will occur surely, and fine the ASUU chairman and his NEC 10million each to be deducted from their future salary for disobeying court order.

meanwhile if ASUU refuses to resume the lecture, what will they gain ? nothing, the court hearing can’t proceed, the appeal can’t proceed, negotiation with FG can’t proceed, nothing for them if they don’t want to resume.

Anything they want to do. So far the strike is calledoff. Because its getting too long and its not good for the educational system in nigeria. ASUU and federal government should shift grounds.

What’s the point of having a Labour Union if the Government can just use a Government controlled court to force them back to work??

If a labor union wants to grow bigger than the government and the people, then such union needs to be clipped.

When obi get there, will he be budgeting 1 million for feeding. It is the standard and he is not the first president to get that as budget for feeding. Go and verify state budget for feeding and then multiply by 36 for federal government. When u see that budget for feeding, it is not rice and beans we are talking about, it entails a lot of activities which goes on in the Aso rock everyday and that is y obi self want to enjoy the luxury of Aso rock.
He has already enjoy the luxury of state house and he wants to step up likewise Batified.
U can go and verify how much obi budgeted for feeding when he was governor of anambra state. Atleast it is not on history that he cut budget for feeding while being governor

This is not a matter of support or not. Regardless of any political affiliation, this Assu have bite more than they can chew.
When the strike started and I spoke with some of the lecturers, they were happy and calm because they were going on strike. They told me that government should listen to their demands and accept it that if not they will remain on strike and still collected their full salary. They ask me after collecting their salaries who loose? I answered that government. They never believed it could turn around like this for them.
ASUU have always been happy and quick to go on strike because they know they have nothing to loose. Now they have something to loose and some of u are still clamoring for them to be paid for job not done.
If ASUU is ever paid that 8 months salary, it is not different from a thief who rob people with gun in a broad day light
