Work Experience or Post Graduate Degree(s)?

Young professionals have asked me this question repeatedly. This is my view, unless you are very passionate about academics and lecturing or you intend to use postgraduate degree(s) to achieve relocation goals, do not sacrifice practical skills and work experience for postgraduate degrees at the early stage of your career!

Good work experience/skills can land you great jobs, the probability that post graduate degree(s) will will guarantee you a job after graduation is below 50%.

It is safer to consider postgraduate degrees after garnering at least 3 to 5years work experience, you are able to make better use of the post graduate degree both while in school and after school if you already have practical work experience...
