As the faceoff between Dangote Group and the government of Kogi State hightens, the topic has become a major discussion on the micro blogging site, Twitter.

At about 2PM on Monday, the issue made it to the trending topics on Twitter with the tag 'DangoteExploitingKogi.' 1,482 Twitter users were seen to to be discussing the issue.

Recall, the government of Kogi State sealed Obajana mining site last week in a move to recover the ownership of the cement factory from Dangote Group.

Amidst the controversy with the Dangote Group, a fire incident occurred in the state assembly complex.x on Monday, leaving the complex completely razed, Tribune reported.

The State government through the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingly Fannwo has called for the citizens to remain calm, adding that security experts were already working to know the cause of the fire. The Punch reported the fire incident on Monday afternoon.

Someone, who successive thieving and ruling governments have backed up and decided to make their conduit for the perpetual erasing of the country's mineral resources under the false guise of competitive and open market practice.

Only someone who had been cursed from the womb with failure will have all the political and economic backing of the entire Nigeria system and not be a world-renowned Billionaire.

In my opinion, if he was even as smart and business savvy as we are led to believe, with all the backing and license to do and undo with the country's mineral resources, Dangote should be competing in net-worth with Bezos and Musk.

Dangote got a deal that can only be replicated in countries like Russia (in 1990s) but won't give anything back to his (their) host communities.

If you'd like to defend these guys (that are as bad as Nigerian politicians), you should know that most of their wealth came from monopolistic deals with corrupt FG. The LEAST they could do is give back and invest in the host communities, whose resources they've syphoned. That's how thriving ecosystems from California (USA) to Mumbai (India) are built.
