The NIMET predictions are all
trial and error & of no use to any
serious person.

Every year they predict flood and
most times, it doesn't come to pass.

Just like the prophesies of TB Joshua,
they don't show us the ones that failed,
only the ones that, by chance came to
pass.

I realize that when NIMET warns about flooding. You will think the flood will come in a week time or 3 days time. But for my hood that flood will come within 2 to 24 hours. angry

it is that that Lagdo dam that you guys keep allowing Cameroun to open in a brazen, crude, bizzare manner.

It is not Cameroon’s fault.

The dam is in their Country and they are a sovereign country and have the right to open and close anything within their country whenever they see fit.

Nigeria Government is to be blame, we know that we are the last Country on the path of the River Nigeria before it empties into the Atlantic Ocean and know that we will be flooded depending on the actions/inactions of countries above us.

And we had a solution, which is the dredging of the River Nigeria to deepen more and create more tributaries that will take the excess water….and like every Abandoned project in Nigeria that money was embezzled.

We no longer hear about the River Niger dredging any more, like the Oil Refineries turn around maintenance project, it has become a cash cow for Nigeria Politicians.

Why is Japan, China, US and other countries that release water from their dam not having this kind of overfloot as we see in Nigeria.

Why is Cameroon flood coursing more ham to Nigerian cities.
No go there oo, Google videos and pictures of flooding in california and florida

It gets scarier everyday, from Lokoja, Anambra, and even in some Northern states the situation is getting kinda worrying

It is high time we started taking environmental pollution seriously.
this is not an environmental pollution situation

They should be preparing to evacuate people from flood prone areas, this flood ravaging Nigeria isn’t just something of today is as a results of lack of proper drainage system and town planning

Come to UAE before they develop any area first underground drainage system must be ready but here in Nigeria after the government allowed everyone to build houses without proper town planning when flood start they will now be demolishing peoples house as illegal structures

You sound very DAFT! Government gave you heads up about an impending natural disaster, instead of you to do the needful , you are sitting down waiting for Government to come and spoon-feed you and relocate you to aso rock, instead of you to ask the governors of the states their plans you want to blame FG even after the federal agency has done the needful.

You are spot on. Sometimes I do think if we had focused on projects such as the desertification projects, chad basin development project, river Niger basin development projects and the likes, the present security and food issues that are currently bedeviling our dear country won’t have escalated to this present state.

It is well.

what do you even know? Who is Nigeria to tell another country not to open it's dam?; Nigeria and cameroun had an agreement in 1977 over the lagdo dam. Nigeria own part was to build 2dams two and havle of the ladgo dam so as to contain the flood. Cameroun build in 4 years from 78- 82. It's over 40 years now. What's stopping your guy-ant of Africa ? Now you want to boss another country around ? The least they can do Is inform you to evacuate

The floods would have not been like if the nigerian government had played their role well...when they were building that dam in camoroun money was but budgeted to dredge the niger river to atlantic ocean...but they embezzled the money...now we are all suffering it....it wont hav been worse like this....
