The fight between Wike and Atiku has dragged on beyond the expectations of most political observers. However, what many do not understand is that there are powerful forces backing Wike in his roforofo fight with Atiku. Obasanjo is one of such men. Remember that Obasanjo and Wike has had series of meetings in recent times, alongside other governors both past and present. The boldness Wike has been exhibiting so far shows also points to the fact that some powerful men are backing him.

Obasanjo has never hiding his dislike for Atiku and doesn't want him anywhere close to Aso rock. The 5 Southern PDP governors with Wike are part of an elaborate plan to shut Atiku out of the South and it's been working so far perfectly that Atiku had to abandon campaigns to desperately beg Wike.

Atiku understands that without the South and with the NW and NE not guaranteed for him, his ambition would fail again. That's why he is desperately begging Wike but unfortunately for him, the ship has already sailed.
