OSAZE Odem-wingie's big-club dream move is set to materialise as Arsenal yesterday announced it was ready to meet the £8m asking price of West Brom for the Nigerian international.

Wigan Athletic and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested but Wigan only offered £4m while Spurs say they cannot pay so much for the striker.


Odemwingie was left out of the opening day fixture in the English Premiership as both player and club attempted to sort out mutual beneficial contract terms.


Odemwingie scored 15 goals for West Brom last season in his Premiership debut rendering him a hot cake among Premier League clubs.


In the meantime, some fans of the Baggies say Odemwingie can go.


Uncle Herbert Birmingham says: ''Whether he stays and sulks or goes for a silly fee - as long as awful teams like QPR, Swansea and Norwich keep getting promoted, Albion can afford to live without him.


"We must continue, though, to invest in youthful potential - such as Shane Long. Brick by brick we can become established. Having a club like Norwich in the Premiership is like having a muck spreader parked on the front drive of Buckingham Palace.


'' Had Reading come up, I would have been far more concerned for our Premiership safety with the likes of Odemwingie leaving. Anybody with half a brain knows that Norwich, QPR and Swansea will not get anywhere near thirty points."

I pray they sign him up.
He needs to play for a better club.
