Highly-rated defender Mamadou Sakho appears to be on his way out of Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain this summer, as Premier League side Arsenal have tabled an offer for the centre-back, France Football reports.


The Gunners have looked vulnerable at the back in the 2010-11 season and manager Arsene Wenger is eager to strengthen his defence in the summer transfer window, with the French tactician allegedly considering the 21-year-old to be the perfect addition to his squad.

Sakho is a product of the PSG youth academy and has developed into a key player at the Paris side in the past few years, attracting admiring glances from across Europe in the process, with Inter, Roma, Barcelona and Bayern Munich monitoring his progress.

The stopper recently signed a new contract at the capital club until the summer of 2014, but PSG could be forced to cash in on their star defender if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Arsenal are keen to sign Sakho this summer and have tabled a €15 million offer, but PSG reportedly rejected their advances, and are thought to be holding out for a fee closer to €20m.
