All these hunt against investors ehn… Meanwhile I think he who comes to equity should come with clean hands. BUA said there are no roads and security is deteriorating. What has the government done in these areas? Audio works… I think we just have governments online and not physically present 4 Likes |

I am happy with BUA's reply, Kogi State and it's Assembly have no sympathy for investors who stake everything to make their domain investment friendly. Rather than give appropriate tax concessions so that the investor can put his own infrastructure they are behaving like hooligans. Investment in your sector have low barrier of entry, instead of you to be looking at the derivatives such investment would bring to your locality you are busy threatening investors.. Do you know how much Lagos has made as derivative from the investment in lekki free trade zone. See who want to be President. Oga Rabiu Nagode 3 Likes |

Hope naysayers can now see one reason Lagos is ahead of other states is not just because of the ports but that investors are encouraged to set up facilities and then just ensure they pay their tax. When it comes to tax, forget it, Lagos go follow up with you on tax issues, but the state itself will never disrupt your business. You go pay fees like LASAA, Lawma, development etc but that your business, nobody go come stop you one morning from opening for business. Now a small state like Kogi is sending all the wrong signals at the highest level (state government and house of assembly) that investors are not welcomed in the state. 2 Likes |

That settles the matter. Kogi state government should revoke the Certificate of Occupancy. Some other investors will show interest in future. 1 Like |

Many of these folks who believe everything is about violence and gra gra will now understand the damage being done by this governor. The governor who gave Dangotte and BUA the investment opportunity was probably a better forward-thinking governor. All that was needed was successive governors to follow up and find out how best they can encourage them. The kind of investments these 2 guys do are not portfolio investment that you just wake up and carry your shop away. Once you build these kind of factories, you have to be sure that no one will disturb you for at least another 20 years. VERDA: 1 Like |

9jatriot: Exactly...governments have one major job and that is to provide the enabling environment for businesses to thrive, that is the only way economies grow. Kogi government thinks it's flexing it's muscles, it does not understand the damage it is doing to its state. |

9jahotblog: The govt gave them the land in other to attract investment from BUA Group. The govt failed in providing other infrastructure like roads to the sight thus the company did not develop it since 2012. Govt give lands to companies and organization free with hope that they invest which brings jobs and revenue. Areas like fee trade zone are an example. In western countries they even give u citizenship for you investment. 1 Like |

Bad market! Best to attract investors with a view to cementing Kogi relationship with them than to repel them. The House of Assembly cannot turn the lime deposit into cement. |

Nice!!! States think they can be milking companies without performing their role. A serious investor acquires land that will bring development. You can’t even do your part Ann’s create access roads!! You want to make money but you don’t want to create enabling environment!!! After what they did to Dangote? BUA called their bluff and told them to Forkoff!!! 2 Likes |
