Big players like Ronaldo come with a lot of baggage which can disrupt any team and dressing room. We've seen how Ronaldo ended at Madrid and Juve, and dressing room issues even before ETH arrived. Anyone would love to avoid that because nothing good can come from it, so don't blame the coach.
