Beauty Queen, Serena Amarachukwu Joseph Celebrates Int'l Girl Child Day With Abuja IDP Camp

A Beauty Queen and the Universal Queen Africa (Culture), Serena Amarachukwu Joseph has marked the 2022 International Girl Child Day with internally displaced girls in IDP camp in Abuja.

It is customary to her organization, Serena Amarachukwu Joseph Foundation (SAJ Foundation) to reach out to young girls in communities where the foundation educates them on menstrual hygiene, Personal Hygiene, Etiquette for girls.

Serena Joseph, an Anambra-born Graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Education Winneba, Ghana has also in the past visited public schools where sanitary pads were distributed, and the girls educated on the need to stay away from social vices, such as drugs, prostitution and others that could jeopardize their future.

To mark this year's International Girl Child Day, she in the company of her team visited the IDP camp where in the advancement of her campaign targeted at improving good hygiene among young girls.

The girls in the camp received the Beauty Queen with so much excitement as sanitary items and study materials were distributed to them.

Addressing the elated girls who are also pupils of Sharing Prosperity Nursery & Primary school in IDP camp games village Abuja, the beauty queen urged them to take their education seriously as it will help them contribute meaningfully to the development of the society.

She also told them that they would have higher chances of earning higher wage if they are educated and also be part of the decision-making process on issues that affect them directly.

According to her, girls' education strengthens the economy and reduces inequality. According to her, it also changes their destiny, as well as those of their future children, and ensures that they can contribute to the economic life of their various communities.

Speaking with newsmen on the reason behind her drive, she said, "I love to support the girl child in the Society and the world at large, helping the kids on the streets, volunteering for humanitarian activities.

"These are things I love to do so I needed a platform to help me get sponsors and do greater things that's why I went into pageantry to become a Beauty Queen. My motivation is helping someone with no expectation or reward, donating to or volunteering with charity.

"My vision as a beauty queen is to empower young women across Africa through Community Service, to reach out to young girls across Africa through the Girl Child Education Campaign Program."
