Throwback Video and Highlights: Peter Obi's Achievements as Governor of Anambra Anambra's Economic Growth In 2014, The supervisory Minister of National Planning Commission and Minister of State for Works, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda said that Anambra state's GDP had grown by 40% in 2 years during Peter Obi's tenure as governor (2009 - 2011). Yuguda is Minister of State for Finance today. Also, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics and The National Planning Commission, the agriculture sector of Anambra state grew by 30%, Industry sector grew by 4% while the Service sector grew by 66%. At that rate according to Yuguda, Anambra state GDP was growing faster than some African and Caribbean countries. Ambassador Yuguda attributed the rapid growth in GDP to the Anambra Integrated Development Strategy (ANIDS) which was developed by Peter Obi. What is ANIDS? ANIDS stands for Anambra Integrated Development Strategy. It was a framework developed and used by Peter Obi in order to achieve his vision to develop all sectors of the state's economy simultaneously. According to Peter Obi, "It's one thing to have a vision, and another thing to have a strategy for the delivery of the vision. ANIDS helps the state with proper planning, budgeting, execution of the plan, supervision and ensuring delivery of the government's plan." (Video source below) Highlights of Anambra state's achievements under Peter Obi's leadership include: Restoration of Peace to the state Peter Obi was known to be very decisive in tackling crime in the state. One thing I admire about his procedures was that he did everything by the book, using powers given to him by the state assembly to deal decisively with criminals. The relative peace he restored in the state helped in creating an enabling environment for inflow of investments and new industries Road Construction Peter Obi constructed and rehabilitated over 900km of roads, creating at the time, one of the best rural road networks in Nigeria. He also constructed 28 bridges in Anambra which opened up many communities and economic activity across the state, one of the longest of them built on the Ozubulu-Atani road. (Details and testimonies from locals on video below). Healthcare Peter Obi constructed the Anambra State University Teaching Hospital and gave billions of naira worth of grants to missionary health institutions to enhance service delivery, and these institutions gained accreditation. Education Peter Obi returned schools to the missionaries and enhanced the standards of education in the state. Yemi Kale who was the Statistician general of the Federation (2011 - 2021), said in 2014 that Anambra state was one of the top most developed and advanced states in education in Nigeria. LoLz, the whole Nigeria's GDP grew during the time of oil boom. GDP is not really a governor's achievement and hardly has bearing on the common man. It just says there's a lot of money around compared to the population.

Image123: So people should listen to a random nairalander with no known qualification over a minister who credited Anambra state growth to ANIDS that was developed by Peter Obi? Ambassador Yuguda attributed the rapid growth in GDP to the Anambra Integrated Development Strategy (ANIDS) which was developed by Peter Obi. 3 Likes 1 Share |

How will 200m Nigerians trust a candidate , who said on National Tv, that his children did not trust him whenever he made any promise with them. That his own Children, have resulted in recording him to back their claims. 1 Like 1 Share |

socialmediaman: GDP is taught in Secondary school, we don't need politicians to bamboozle us about it. We know what it means, how it's calculated and so forth. With all the patchpatch ANIDS, WHO soon declared Onitsha as most polluted city in the world. Obi's family cannot live in Anambra. Anambra governors can't openly support Obi till date. Abeg, talk another one. 1 Like 1 Share

Imagine using Ajegunle to drag Tinubu. Meanwhile, in the same Anambra State, there are cities like Nnewi o. Industrialised and developed and making great strides, but you'll never find there to use as an example. Yeye. |

Image123: Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia was among the worst in the list of towns listed with Onitsha and Aba as cities using unclean energy in industrial production. Lagos can not be compared to Riyadh in 10000 years to come. Next time try to understand the context before analyzing topics beyond your understanding. I thought you were learned not knowing you are like other bigoted miscreants to the intellectual community. What you posted has no bearing on negative development but atmospheric air pollutants due to industrial development. 1 Like

LadyExcellency: Failure always struggles for friends. The point is lost on you. If ANIDS was effective as claimed, Anambra should have no place in that list. You're attempting to compare Riyadh in the middle East that has natural sandstorms to your headless, visionless pollution filled with refuse dumps everywhere.
