You would have been happy if the project was not completed. But now that it is being completed, YOU CAN NEVER BE HAPPY AGAIN!!!

I will always be a happy man, I'm only pointing out the corruption behind the project and the disgust of the over hyping of the project...

Oga! Ambode had no moral justification to abandon the project he used for campaign.

Ambode didn't do all these. He just deliberately abandoned the projects of predecessor.

I don't think so...

This makes the city the second most unliveable city in the world and the worst in Africa. And even though most cities were added in the index, Lagos still maintained its previous second to the last position.

At least Lagos is recognised as a city.

Truth remind that a whole bunch of Nigerians aren’t informed. The Lagos rail project is fully funded and monitored my the EU. Feel free to do a research. Neither FG nor Lagos government has a hand in its funding an my question remains, “what has the governors been doing all along?” Take a good look at the development indices of neighboring SW states.
It tells nothing but how useless, greedy, wicked, myopic and hopeless our governors are nationwide.

If you're not from Lagos state,kindly hold your state gov responsible!

With huge IGR,VAT,Federal Allocation, Security Votes etc....seem a whole lot of them are useless! Your criticism of Lagos will only spur the state to a higher level!

Good development from Sanwo-Eko!

May we not be afflicted with what makes us hail our looters as leaders.
Since this thread is about APC propaganda for Sanwo Olu’s Lagos, please what is the point about other states?

You should simply show that Tinubu’s current lackey in Alausa is using all the IGR raised from the people’s pockets plus the allocation on their behalf and huge loans to provide commensurate services, utilities, facilities and infrastructure maintenance. For example, have they increased teachers and school enrolment by 83 times, which is the increase in IGR from N600 million in 1999 to N50 billion now, according to Tinubu’s Boko Haram governor running mate.

So do you know? Or you just don’t care, as long as you can compare yourself with other states in this geographical area that is the world capital for extreme poverty and the highest number of children who are out of school.

Please if Lagos is working why is it taking forever to build a light rail, when clueless Jonathan built not just the Abuja light rail and the Kaduna-Abuja railway, he also revived the existing railway.
Instead of just hailing your looters as working leaders, why can’t you interrogate yourself on these valid comparisons?

SB2020:
Interesting facts about Addis Ababa and Lagos light rail projects.

Addis Ababa / Lagos
Cost == $475Million / $1.2Billion
Length == 34km / 27km
Time to Complete == 4years / 7years (projected)
Year Awarded == 2011 / 2008 (Construction began 2010)
Contractor == China Railway Eng. Corp (CREC) /Chinese Civil Eng. Constr. Coy (CCECC)
Population == 5Million / 20Million
GDP == $50Billion (Ethiopia) / $100Billion (Est.) (Nigeria - $535B)

Ethiopia has managed to deliver Sub-Saharan Africa’s first modern light rail project which opened in the capital Addis Ababa on Sunday, and in the process, beat Lagos whose own rail project remains four years behind schedule.

Ethiopia’s rail project was delivered on time, despite its being longer than the Lagos – Badagry rail line currently under construction.

Addis Ababa’s two line 34-kilometre system was built by the China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC) and cost $475m, 85 percent of which has been covered by China’s Exim bank. The Lagos Light Rail Project or Blue on Badagry Expressway, was to have 13 stations from Okokomaiko to Marina via Iddo for a total of 27 kilometres.

The contract was awarded to the Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) at the cost of $1.2 billion in 2008, and was to be delivered in 2011. Survey work took one year between August 2009 and August 2010 while construction began July 2010.

The work is being implemented using the public and private partnership (PPP) model, whereby the state builds the infrastructure and the private sector provides the rolling stock and management. However, the project has not worked out according to the plan.
The 2011 deadline was missed, even though the State government got a loan to fund the project.

The noise on this blue rail line is getting too much, can they just finish the work and let people start enjoying the service, it is like the project is now been used as a campaign tool instead of serving the people, this is one reason I preferred Ambode's government, he doesn't make noise with projects, you just see the project done without media hype and ceremonies.

Ambode is still the best Lagos governor since 1999 - but Tinubu removed him because Tinubu wanted to steal more for himself and his cronies

Bros have you forgotten the mess ambode made with refuse collection??

Never seen Lagos Island so dirty mtchew..

The fact that they generates a huge amount is sign of a working government. Kano and Rivers get as much as Lagos if not more from federal allocations. With is population and small land mass, Lagos is over burdened. Please receive sense. Ordinary salaries other states can't pay not to mention development.
