Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, has distanced herself and the FG from the proposed naira redesign.

The planned redesign had been announced by the Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, over 48 hours ago.

The Minister, who disowned the policy, stated that it does not receive the blessing of the Ministry of Finance. She also warned of the dire consequences if the CBN goes ahead to implement the redesign policy.

Ms. Ahmed, on Friday, spoke on the policy when she appeared before the Senate Committee on Finance for the 2023 budget defence of the ministry. While responding to questions from Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele representing Ekiti Central Senatorial district, she maintained that the policy may be good, but coming at the wrong time.

Opeyemi said the pronouncement may have triggered a rise in naira to US dollars in terms of value. He stated that naira has jumped from N740 to N788 to a US dollar due to rush in exchange of stashed funds.

It's an agenda for forcing people to the E-Naira. They're unifying cards by January, so they need to mop up cash in safe houses and the millions in people's houses so they give you digital currency and move you to the E-Naira.

This is the only way they can do it. Ask you to bring in your ₦100m cash to change it and they would credit your account with the digital value and not let you withdraw it in cash again.... Maybe only ₦5-10m cash per tranche. And if you keep withdrawing it in trickles they will flag you.

This is all about control and WEF agenda. Nigeria doesn't own it's Central Bank.

This is all to change over to the DUSD (Digital USD). They want to allign all currencies digitally. They are destroying the USD next year to renominate it like the Ghana currency and change the value of the Dollar.

They can't have a unified digital currency if those 2 don't fall. Also Europe Next year is going to be crippled. That's why UK needed a new PM in Rishi Sunak was chosen.
