the moment you threatened your MD, you are no longer a good doctor/staff, the only solution to your case is sack, the MD was silent because he wants to source for replacement before he trow you out of the window with your attitude

That shows he is very important, the annoying thing is a client will call the MD to make a report,the MD won't even bother hearing you out,the next thing is for him to start saying rubbish on the phone because he feels you're replaceable,he feels there are many people out there waiting to take your position at any given time.

So if he feels this way then the doctor is very important.

We have to do something to stop this trend if all the doctors japa who go treat their mothers brothers and sisters dey left behind.

Sure there's, both parties missed d whole thing. Also, for d Dr to sound that way shows that d MD drives pleasure in threatening his employees at a slightest error or issue. I hv being in such situation before, some employers always see themselves as demigod not knowing that there should be respect btw employer and employee.

What if that doctor is a consultant? Please stop blabbing. Doctors are stretched thin. The ones who stay back are doing so because they care.

I'm not a doctor but I know as a doctor you attend to your patients not based on queue number but by the severity of their ailment (person when dey show sign of stroke needs immediate attention that person with a popped out shoulder irrespective of the number dem dey on your queue list).

That being said I hope that's how you attend to your patients as a professional not as a typical nigerian.

You have to respect the person that you expect to treat you, and that includes being patient and waiting your turn. Most doctors know when a case is urgent enough to justify jumping of a queue.

I was at a State hospital (the biggest hospital in that state) recently and was shocked when the most senior doctor there told me there were only 3 doctors left in the entire hospital.

There used to be more than 20. Most have left the country.

This hospital treats several hundred people a day, and that excludes all those on admission.

The 3 doctors work about 16 hours a day, and are usually rushing back from home when there is an emergency. No rest for them.

We have to respect doctors.

Don't get too emotional about his post. I guess what he meant was that Doctors get trained for next to nothing in comparison to the cost in the western world but I guess that extends to all other professions too.

Everyone have been short changed in Nigeria and I believe that only very few earn any pay that is commensurate with their knowledge and education.

Patients should be attended to based on the severity of their illness and not their punctuality. The fact that you didn't state this in your rant only cements what I think of all Nigerians and their selfish narcissistic self serving attitude.
If you resign, fine. I wish half the Nigerians resigned and left the country.

How much does it cost in total? Is it a hundredth as much as it costs in Europe or America?

actually some patients cab be very unruly I've seen many that will just burst into the consulting room demanding that a prescription be written even if a half unclad lady is being examined and when the doc says he should wait outside, the next thing is "do you know who I am? I will write to health minister to sack you etc...yet the fellow met other patients waiting on queue.
but then dokito no suppose say anything to his boss, maybe he don get problem with the boss earlier as some MD dey only look one side of the story, i used to have one oga like that..las las I comot leave the work for am.

My MD will fire him right away . Guy try and get sense, doctors are leaving and doctors dey. My hospital is a very competent hospital competing with American standard, it depends on the kind of hospital the guy is working with.

Only a kid throws insults without reasoning. Grownup please, I meant to elucidate and not to insult, my shift ends soon though was busy with a patient and I couldn't express all I wanted to in the previous post.
