What stopped Rufai from going there to ask some of these questions.

I learned that prepared questions were given to selected people to ask at the occasion.

BAT went to the podium and read a prepared speech and then sat at the high table for the QA session. When the prepared questions were thrown up by the selected audience, he practically went mute and was rescued by surrogates and his vp even at questions that were directed to him.
