Do you know that Lagos economy is bigger than some African countries economy join together? All statistics combined, Lagos remain the richest state in Nigeria.

Do you wonder why there is massive infrastructural development in Ebonyi or Rivers State?

Why is Sanwo Olu, the Governor of Lagos not performing like El Rufai of Kaduna or Zulu’s of Borneo; war and bandits ravaged States?

Godfatherism is the only answer. For the past 22years, one man, yes one man has cornered Lagos. Amassing its wealth for himself while Lagosians suffer untold hardship.

Before you make excuses for him, Lagos was the number one metropolitan city even at independence of 1960. Lagos was the Federal Capital Territory for years before it was moved to Abuja, and so has large chump of our national assets and infrastructures which generates billions to both the federal and state coffers.

Intentional Oil companies (IOCS) doing oil exploration in the Niger Delta has their offices either in Abuja or Lagos till date. Tinubu is milking Lagos dry and the poor man on the street does not benefit one bit. Where is Lagos money going. Is it Tinubu’s pocket? If he becomes the president of a country like Nigeria, what do you think will happen.

Lagos is beautiful today but sit has always been beautiful before 1960.

If we allow religion or ethnicity to make you allow thieves into government, the poor will be worse affected.

So theives are not already in government? You advertised lagos forgetting the hard parts like
multiple taxation,

the fact that even the poor especially market women are taxed more than they can afford,

house rents and other bills are much more than the reasonable amount they should be compared to the average LEGAL income of people in the visinity(not all of us can peddle dugs) ,

Transport system is illegally overtaxed and much of the Taxed amount disappears before entering government coffers , i wonder to where?
Busses are currently on a 7 days tax because of illegal billing by dj oluma and his senior brother.

Lagos has so many industries that pay and bribe government and the officials responsible for lagosians while they are overworked, underpaid, exposed to hazardous work environments and molested im a scheme called FACTORY WORK but we are not ready for that discussion, most people in that slave market cant afford a browsing phone in order to join this discussion even though theyve worked for 15 years there.

Roads contracts are issued to family and friends for x2 or x3 of the original worth and end up beimh dome shoddily, intentionally un maintained so 3 years after that, another full overhaul would be needed... Welcome to lagos.

Have you been to ghettos aroumd Nigeria especially lagos? Do you know how big they are? Can you swear police and some government officials are not receiving heavy payment from dealers daily.... Those are parts of the illegal veins and muscles funding the lavish lifestyles of some so called touts, artists, hotel owners, government officials..

But with all that, lets look another way and vote same party that has injected poison into the heart of our county calling it CHANGE.

I knew of many chronic buhari APC supporters back then in Lagos shouting say baba up and down in 2015 and 2019 election. But today, most of them have japa with their families to UK, US, Canada and Australia, because the buhari lead evil APC government has really hit them hard over here in Nigeria.

The most painful part of it all is that most of them even took loan to aid their japa away from Nigeria.
APC supporters should please use their sense for once.

Alpha beta do not collect tax..they are intermediary between Lirs and Tax payer..making sure the taxes are remitted and accountable..they do not deal with liquidity..that is where Lagos lead..instead of you to learn and stop discreding something good someone else has done because you are supporting one mediocrity that his only achievements was beer parlour

In reality, you should be begging him to preside over Nigeria.

That’s a lie, I stay in Ayobo ipaja and I am telling you even people selling in streets with small shops get visited to pay their levies or they close down their shops from the LCDA’s office and so the Aboki and women selling late night market with no shops still pay LCDA’s office ticket which is a form of direct tax so nobody is tax free in Lagos. I’m not saying not to support your candidate but be honest and get your fact right doing it.

You are aware though that Alphabeta works in several Nigerian states including PDP states in the north, SE and SS as well as in Ghana and Angola. It isn't a suitcase business for Lagos alone. And the business is not illegal by any means. In 2014 Okonjo Iweala hired Mckinsey as tax consultant to the Federal Government at a fee estimated at 1.3bn ( see below). Its nothing new. Everybody wins. In the US former governors and senators have lobby firms that are paid millions of dollars to influence policy without any value added. Yet those lobby firms do much less for the public good than alphabeta.

Taxing is a serious business to a lazy government that cannot think out of the box. Why reasonable governments are harnessing human capacity, natural resources and widen production, another one is taxing the poor to meet government finances.
Even in an advanced system, they sometimes observe tax holiday, just to relieve the masses of burden.
Government business does not begin and end in collection of taxes but thinking how to relieve human burden.
