In fact, only a slowpoke wouldn't believe that. Also, owing the their precise precedents in stuff like that.

Now, how did these "foreign" countries get such Intel even from far away where they are ?

And how do agencies like CIA, MOSSAD, FBI get Intel's ?

Even if its moles, how do these things work such that even the "moles" tend to be in sensitive political positions in their countries .... Does it mean they'll betray their own country even as presidents to give out vital security info ??

99% of Intel flowing to intelligence outfits originate from so-called assets and not their agents on ground .

That said, you have to understand the difference between an asset and an agent.

An asset is usually a foreign free agent engaged with an intelligence outfit in the country of his origin who provides espionage services and or insider clarifications on policy shifts, military operations and hardware as well as diplomatic Intel and services.
An agent on the other hand is a direct employee of the intelligence outfit working either covertly under diplomatic cover or embedded deep in his mission undercover as a businessman, tourist or whatnot.

Some assets may not know they are assets and some do it for monetary gain and some may engage in it for political reasons either as a dissenter to the govt in power or in hope of averting a policy and diplomatic direction they don't agree with.
