The Panama papers revelations left many mouths across the world agape and till today many of the mouths are still widely left open. How do you explain millions of dollars owned by politicians, sitting governors, ministers, etc., even from countries where the majority live in abject poverty? A number of politicians in Nigeria were named in these shameful acts of secret investments, secret accounts, illicit funds ownership, and/or tax evasion. What is more painful is the laxity with which our various security agents have so far handled the case. The likes of Peter Obi, who is shamelessly contesting for the president of Nigeria, have not even been invited for questioning. Obi was a sitting governor when he operated secret off-shore accounts contrary to the code of conduct for public officials.

My concern is what this portends for us as a country if nothing is done about it. It is like saying there is nothing wrong with anybody operating secret accounts. This will legalize roguery in government and embolden potential criminals to do even worse. The future of the country will be further thrown into jeopardy and insecurity at home will get worse.

While my mouth is still agape, I hope the EFCC, ICPC, CCB, etc will wake up from their slumber and do the needful.

" Obi was a sitting governor when he operated secret off-shore accounts as against the code of conduct for public officials."

Fantastic!

Peter channeled massive funds from Anambra state treasury to offshore account in family members names!

Verified intel has it that, If by account balances, Obi`s daughter is far richer than her father in a space of 2 years. How is that possible?

But we know, her name was only used to loot Anambra dry!

They are all pigs. However, Peter Obi is the cleanest of the lot.

No Nigerian politician is a saint, especially when looting the public treasury has zero consequences.

Thîefnubu's urchins are naturally useless to humanity. Their Drug battered grandfather is the greatest shame of the century. Reasonable Nigerians can't stoop low to vote for a criminal that sold drugs as presidential candidate. It is a dent on the image of Nigerians.

These online dogs creating meaningless threads to drag Peter Obi's name in the mud should understand that Obidients are a force to reckon with in their own game.

Thîefnubu is a demented cocaine addict suffering from cerebral palsy, Parkinson disease and tremulous incontinence. grin

I think drugs are a worse problem, the government can't do anything about Panama papers because no crime was committed. Having offshore portfolios in tax havens isn't illegal and it's an activity ALL rich people indulge in including your idols. Your government might feel bad about it but no crime was committed.

Boy, you need to read a little about the code of conduct for public officers. As a public officer , you're;

- not allowed to operate an off-shore account while in office
- must declare your assets and interests (both local and abroad) before assuming office and when leaving - this is the reason for CCB asset declaration forms

Peter Obi breached the two above and therefore has questions to answer.

But thiefnubuu name is also there. Nobody is saying that Obi is a saint, we are saying he is less evil than other contestants

Obi's name wasn't in Panama Papers. It was Tinubu's name that was common in both Panama and Pandora's papers.

Stop confusing yourself by missing Panama's revelations with secret Pandora Offshore Accounts.

What difference does it make?

The Panama Papers report was prepared from documents from only one Mossack Fonseca company, but the Pandora Papers case involved 14 such companies. The data of investigation of 27 thousand companies has been included in Pandora Papers, in which 29 thousand people have proprietary rights.
